听听CNN(Cable News Network)讲LAIKA的故事
She was chosen for Sputnik 2. That's a super rush mission, to launch Earth's second ever artificial satellite, and it made Laika the first living being to travel to orbit. But because they only had a month to build it,
they had to cut some corners. So jump to November 3rd, 1957, Laika lifted off, connected to a bunch of sensors to track how she was doing, and with only one serving of food. Her heartbeat skyrocketed to 260 beats per minute, and her breathing was four times its normal rate. But she made it to orbit. They got the first telemetry readings. She was alive. I mean, literally, they had succeeded. Right there. Soon after, though, the capsule heated up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. And between that and the stress, Laika died around seven hours into her flight. But the public had no idea until much laterOne of the biggest compromises was they had no way to get this animal back. They knew this when they put this together. That it would be a one-way mission.
