In view of the flood threat in Bihar due to torrential rain and glacier burst in Nepal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary over the phone. The Home Minister assured the state government of all possible assistance to deal with the potential crisis. NDRF is being mobilised to deal with any emergency situation.

Given the delicate deterrence between India and Pakistan, it is alarming that an Indian drone struck close to Pakistani nuclear facilities. Could be taken by some trigger happy Pakistani air defence unit as an incoming strike on the nuclear facilities.

And remember the BrahMos missile that accidentally got fired during maintenance in 2022 and flew deep into Pakistan!

The Himalayas are the world’s most seismically active major mountain range, with a record of triggering devastating earthquakes. How even a moderate seismic event can trigger massive cascading effects was illustrated today when a magnitude 4.4 quake along the Tibet-Nepal border unleashed a disaster, with flash floods washing away Nepali villages.

This will renew global attention on China's folly in persisting with the construction of the world's largest dam in the middle of the Himalayan seismic zone. The project, located next to the Indo-Tibetan border, is a water bomb in the making, which could drown India's northeast and wreak havoc farther downstream in Bangladesh.
