I remember when I first started out in this space, random .5-3 ETH whitelist NFT mints would cook on the regular.

At the time, this was an ungodly amount of money for me. Almost my entire monthly salary at times.

I just couldn't hang out with the "big boys" even though that's where I wanted to be.

The first place I felt I could actually participate was Binance shitcoins. Sure, it wasn't the sexiest place in Web3 at the time, but I found a Telegram groupchat through just following people on Twitter.

I loaded up $5,000 and never looked back. That became the place where I really started to understand crypto culture.

Getting in and out of projects with a bunch of people, learning when I was exit liquidty, learning what "good devs" were, etc.

You can laugh at this - but after now spending over 2 years in this industry, there's lessons from these experiences that have held true until today.

Even back then it was obvious to me - if I lost money - it was my fault. I wasn't sharp enough, I got too greedy, I shouldn't trust certain people in the chat.

All key learning lessons to build my confidence to eventually start participating more.

I think the demonification of trading & memecoins is silly. It genuinely scares some people from even trying things out.

If you have a strong head on your shoulders, you will be fine. You might blow up your portfolio a few times, but if you don't do it with the smaller numbers, you will be cooked once you get to the bigger ones.

Just try shit out. It won't bite. Be smart. Always take ownership for your own decisions, and you will get better.
