@elenakvcs This is written by someone that gets it. Few people do.
Just be careful though what you are describing mostly works for small tools, but once you write bigger software it gets a lot more tricky to get good outputs
It took a few iterations but I am finally reaching a protocol version with @OpenPlay_Tech that I'm satisfied with and that will be released to mainnet soon.
- Staking and unstaking in a house will be instant without any delays (before you had to wait until end of epoch)
- Staking gives you a number of shares so you can see your value changing in real time (before you had a stake amount that updated only once per epoch)
- All fees are GGR based (bets - wins) to make sure incentives are aligned with stakers. No money made = no fee.
And while doing so I've simplified the protocol by removing ~30% of lines of code.
Very much looking foward to finishing this up and releasing to mainnet with the first few games and the first public house.
Mr. X makes some good points here.
I personally took a break from @OpenPlay_Tech because there was little to no support from Mysten. For small projects, this often means development efforts are greatly reduced and the project never launches.
Scaling the Sui ecosystem is more than just releasing new dev tools. It also means supporting developers and maintaining existing tooling. Sometimes it feels like they are rushing to put all pieces in place without paying attention to how they are placed on the table.
@Community_Sui@SuiNetwork@JacksonProtocol There have indeed been some misfires, but that's what you get when you move fast. Not everything will be perfect.
Sui is still evolving way faster than competitors and I have no doubts they will get out of this on top.
@0xairtx@AftermathFi This is exactly why Iโm building openplay on Sui as well. Itโs simply not feasible on any other chain.
Good luck with the launch!
