I am shocked by seeing the way people are scamming these days….
Guys, if you are applying for jobs in Dubai based companies, please be careful with these job scams.
Someone recently came very close to falling for one, and the scammers were using my company’s identity to make everything look real.
He came across a job advertisement on Instagram from a company called “Travel Envy”.
He applied, spoke to them and eventually received an offer letter.
Luckily, before going ahead, he sent the letter to me and asked if it was genuine.
When I opened it, I was shocked.
The letter had @0xExpelee name, our old address, our letterhead and even my signature.
Everything had been copied and presented as if the offer had officially come from us.
But the entire thing was fake.
@0xExpelee is closed.
We are not hiring anyone, we are not conducting interviews and we have not authorised “Travel Envy” or anybody else to recruit in our name.
I’m sharing the screenshots here because I want people to see how real these scams can look.
This wasn’t just a random message with obvious spelling mistakes.
It was a proper-looking offer letter using the identity of a real company.
Thankfully, this person decided to verify it. Someone else might not.
If you receive any job offer or communication in @0xExpelee name, please do not trust it.
Don’t send money and don’t share your Aadhaar, PAN, banking information, OTPs or personal documents.
Save the messages, report the Instagram ad and account, and report the matter to the cybercrime authorities.
Please share this with anyone currently looking for a job.
Always talk & check the background of authorized person before getting hired.
@chandlerjward This is the mindset most of us need, but most people start their projects for the funding and to turn it to a company, but if your project is good enough, that will happen on its own.
@itsanirbanroy Mostly followers, but maybe these connections help you land clients? You never know, so the best is to keep posting and keep growing on X, while not expecting anything out of it.
@shipitabhi Listen to people around you, you'll find some problem whose solution you'll be able to build, maybe under some 7 year old long aah reddit thread lies an idea worth building upon.
@webpnkdotdev Around 80% of the popular posts here are shit posts, the rest 20% consist of people asking actual doubts their builds, and sharing their wisdom, which gets buried under the shitposts unfortunately
