Hot Take: I think it’s actively bad for under 30s to have a strong political identity. History & my experience tells me at this age we’re still vastly influenced by strong emotions (be them hate, idealism etc) & have mostly bad opinions due to this + lack of experience.

Attaching urself to a strong political opinion, especially in public, will make it hard to change ur mind later due to peer-pressure, sunk cost fallacy + network/ career reasons. I think the emphasis on getting uni students involved in politics & the way it’s presented as an unalloyed good is a mistake.

I’ve seen a pattern of ppl having early - mid 30s crises due to doubt creeping in re: their political views in their 20s. Having already made these views such a big part of their identity, they often either double down to Even more insane positions, or they completely flip to the other side. Either way, they often have a huge, palpable chip on their shoulder.

Having faith in God gives you an entirely different lease on life. Knowing that everything will work out as it should in the end removes all fear or doubt. As long as you keep pursuing your unique vision that you were gifted with, impossible to lose.
