The Tale of MONAD - The Testnet Dream and the Bitter End
Once upon a time, there was a project called MONAD. When it first launched, it looked generous, dropping MON tokens everywhere, as if sharing the future with everyone.
Testnet users went all in, grinding day and night, hoping this would be the next big win. But no one knew the truth, it was all a setup.
He needed data, shiny stats to show off.
The users thought they were building the future, but in reality, they were just polishing his metrics.
Then came the next bait:
“Follow us on X to claim your SBT NFT!”
The word SBT worked like magic.
The timeline exploded
“I got the NFT!”
“Damn, I missed it!”
And while everyone was talking, he just sat back, watching his follower count skyrocket, grinning.
Phase two began, the KOL recruitment.
He started handing out fancy MONAD Cards to influencers, so they could preach about his project, spreading the hype for free.
It worked like a charm.
And when everything was set
– Beautiful testnet stats.
– Massive followers.
– KOLs hyping everywhere.
He finally declared:
“Rewards will go to those who truly deserve it.”
But who were the “deserving” ones?
Not the ones who stayed up all night testing.
Not the ones who helped him test every single feature.
Instead, it was:
– The KOLs with shiny MONAD Cards.
– The crazy Discord chatterboxes farming roles.
– The whales trading huge volumes on other chains, his real targets. (It’s like he sees a random stranger on the street carrying a huge bag of money, calls out to them and says, ‘Hey, you look just like one of our loyal community members. So you’re eligible for this reward‘) WTF
And the testnet users, those who gave their time, energy, and hope, were left with nothing but a bitter smile and a hard lesson.
@monad isn’t just a story about a blockchain project. It’s a story about trust, loyalty, and how easily they can be exploited.
Monad airdrop: Fame Wins, Effort Loses
Let’s start with a joke
@monad testnet has 300 million wallets, and somehow, 99% of them don’t qualify for the airdrop. Hilarious, right?
After looking at the official airdrop details, I can sum it up like this: If you want to get $MON, you just need one of the following qualifications:
• Be famous
• Own a well-known NFT
• Be part of an elite community
• Trade size so big it moves DeFi charts
If you’re just a normal user (like me) who spent months grinding the testnet like it was a full-time job… sorry, wrong species :))
For exexamplep: most Monad Cards are only given to famous people, like @cz_binance , the big boss, or @heyibinance , the top of top influencer, they’re all eligible to receive a Card, and holders will get airdrops.
=> So yeah, the main qualification seems to be:
“Are you famous enough?”
If yes, congrats. If not, better luck in your next life.
And those who generated terabytes of testnet data?
Who spent nights building, testing, and engaging?
Not even a thank-you note.
Of course, Monad does “value the community,” specifically, the 5,500 hardcore Discord members who probably aged five years running that server. They actually deserve it.
But the rest of the grassroots supporters? Treated like background noise :))))
If they had just said upfront, “Hey, this testnet is for data only, not for rewards,” no one would’ve wasted their time farming fake hope
Now I’m wondering, who counts as a “true supporter” these days?
The builders? The grinders? The ones writing tutorials? Or the ones who just exist with blue ticks? (you can say im jealous lol)
After this, I think I’m done with testnets
Too many of them turned into clown shows where effort = 0.
Maybe next time I’ll just join the “airdrop philosopher” club, sit back, watch chaos unfold, and enjoy the free entertainment🎪
