@baldwinvoices The problem not in a digital product, which you can download and save, and use forever but in license that restricts your ownership. In some cases, especially on PC, it requires constant check your license theough internet - Rockstar shitty DRM says hello
@MyDaebakCafe@llehsadam In any case, I don’t want to say you’re wrong. Having a choice is definitely a good thing but many people don’t fully understand the consequences until they get what they asked for. It’s a bit like children wanting to touch everything
@MyDaebakCafe@llehsadam As a developer, I can easily say the same level of system access provided to 3rd parties is a huge mistake. It is literally one of the big mistakes you can do for your users sacrificing by stability of the system, their privacy and data safety
@MyDaebakCafe@llehsadam Why then you don’t apply the same rules to cars? I want to have BMW with Mercedes engine. I have to play xbox games on my playstation…
@MyDaebakCafe@llehsadam You literally asking a “government” of your “contry” to provide other “government” the same level of an access to manage “country” your original “government” already does. You can’t Apply monopoly for Apple. Because they own everything, it is their territory
@MyDaebakCafe@llehsadam Dude, monopoly is impossible if you create an ecosystem and develop something in it. You can make a backup on your computer if you want. You so like Apple but want to turn it into Android. Why not to use Android then?
@RippleXrpie An access to private messages violates the human rights to private life. It is like if police each time go to your house and search for something suspicious without a reason. It should be considered as criminal activity against citizens. EU is not a concentration camp
@kimmonismus If someone doesn't like it, write to EU Commission directly. It is good way to show that you are not agree with it. The more such letters they have, the better. If they really care about consumers. It is all what you can do now. Other way is to change your country or account.
@possiblyazure Unfortunately, small amount of devs really choose right technologies like C, C++, Rust or even Go. Many devs and companies too lazy or by historical reason prefer JS or Java. Thats why users have to suffer usually and “pay” for it. It is not only pain for you, dude
@MrFlashAccount@moonsugarsunset@valigo Harsh reality is you don’t understand the tool you are talking about. “AI codes better” may say only low experienced engineer. Unfortunately, there are lot of such
@james_mtc@TheGeorgePu Those metrics may be useful but I suppose they mostly measure reliability and regressions, not overall code quality. A system can have zero bugs and still be full of technical debt, poor architecture, overengineering, and performance issues
@james_mtc@TheGeorgePu How do you measure the quality? As a dev I can tell you, more PRs don’t mean better quality. So many times I saw that generated by AI code may be reduced by 2-3x times. That 30-40% delivery speed also may mean more tech debt and non optimal solution just to get things done.
@animesh_xd Interesting. Though calling it a “Rust app” feels a bit misleading when most of the codebase is TypeScript and the UI is still web-based. It feels more like “TypeScriptman” powered by a Rust backend layer
@blueseagrass@SaraDiscovers@ritu_twts Not simpler? Dude, I write C# professionally. After learning Rust, I honestly think it’s simpler, safer, faster, and easier to maintain than C# with all its .NET magic. It’s only hard at the beginning. After that, you slowly turn into a Rust cultist. So be careful…
@SolutionsJoeG@haider1 LLM can help you a lot but still make many mistakes and write junior like code that I can do 2 times smaller and efficient. Also, it times to times try to implement something I didn’t ask (hello Opus 4.7). First of all, learn WHAT IS LLM, it is non deterministic token generator
