How I made $300K and now can't find a job as a Solidity dev with 5+ years of exp.
In 2024, I quit my job and jumped into a crazy adventure with a friend from Discord — liquidations on lending protocols on L2s.
He had a theory. We tested it. It worked.
He handled the backend. I built the contracts.
From then until September 2025, we liquidated $5M+ in positions and made $300K+ in profit.
Along the way: endless experiments across different L2s and chains, Rust, Move, attempts on perpDEXes (yes, there are others beyond Hyperliquid), own nodes and more.
At some point I knew Uniswap's code well enough to rewrite it line by line from memory — and I'm not joking.
Eventually we stopped working together. Working 12-hour days for 1+ years, accompanied by severe stress, took a toll on my health and our relationship.
I took a month off. Then decided to get back into development, try myself in arbitrage, and in parallel I've been applying for Solidity dev roles.
My experience exceeded most job requirements — but 2-3 interview callbacks for ~100 roles. 2-3!!!
Are these jobs even real? Or am I just not good enough?
Show me the people who ARE getting hired — what do their GitHub profiles and CVs look like lol.
Starting to lose hope and be disappointed when I see how vibecoders are pushing AI-generated code, losing millions and still getting hired :)
Genuinely considering just going full degen on futures. 😅🤣
@RibsModi To be famous, be star in community.
Be part of product which have a big impact on industry.
Honestly idk 🤷♂️ I’m trying to solve this problem myself.

@CryptoEagle1101 Everyone's talking about auditing and how web3 requires security, but who's writing this unsecured code?! 😁
I think only way to find job is to be ex @Uniswap or ex @aave …
@Jeyffre Yes, I have been communicating with @itsme_madara , but so far without any results.
P.s. Thanks for your attention, Jeffrey. I love your books, they helped me a lot at the beginning 🤓
@0xb4dg0d Working brother. Working and traveling.
Visited 12+ countries and learned a lot. Earned a lot and spend a lot 😂😁
But yeah, it would be better to do all this in public.
