I know I haven't been posting back-to-back lately.
The truth is, there hasn't been much fun happening in Web3 recently.
Most people would agree that we're deep in a bear market.
The timelines are quieter, liquidity is thinner, and opportunities aren't as obvious as they were a few months ago.
But enough of that.
Let's get back to the topic at hand:
How to Spot Good Tokens to Buy and Hold 🧵

This doesn't mean every token with concentrated ownership is a bad investment.
It simply means you need to understand the risks before committing capital.
The goal isn't just to identify why a token is going up.
The goal is to understand what could cause it to go down.

When a small group controls most of the available supply, a token can appear much stronger than it actually is.
Low float.
Limited sell pressure.
Aggressive narratives.
Strong social engagement.
From the outside, everything looks healthy.
Under the hood, the reality can be very different.
My thoughts on Beacon: (You can play for fun if you want to, but put these things into consideration.)
First, I think the GameFi side of Web3 and cryptocurrency gaming is mostly dead right now, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Beacon has been around since around 2022, and I had friends who used to play it back then. I personally enjoyed Web3 gaming in the past, but not anymore.
Another issue is the TGE (Token Generation Event). At the moment, there’s still no clear date or proper information about it. If a game is using a fixed token supply as part of its reward system, I think players should already know the TGE details. Unknown TGE means they can launch January 1st, 2027.
I also think the dungeon gameplay could be improved. For example, when a door opens behind your NPC, you’re forced to play that section backwards. I don’t think that creates a fun gameplay experience it just feels frustrating and poorly designed.
In addition, I believe players should receive an extra heart (NPC life) after successfully completing a dungeon level. The energy system is already expensive: players only get 100 energy per day, while each dungeon run costs 20 energy. That limits how much people can actually play.
Overall, it feels like the game pushes players toward becoming premium users. Spending more money in-game doesn’t necessarily guarantee better rewards, but it probably increases your allocation from the prize pool because fewer people own premium starter packs.
