This week was the first time I felt flow state since I switched to ai-driven development 2 years ago
For me, flow state is feeling so locked into a project that the effort feels automatic and time flies by
I used to feel it because it was satisfying to piece together a single model bit by bit. Puzzle solving with fast feedback
Working with GPT/Claude didn't felt like that before
- feedback wasn't fast enough (yes, there are faster models but they make more mistakes I need to fix manually)
- context switching between multiple threads was tough
- admin load grew with the number of threads: spinning worktrees up and down, pushing prs, running test suites (yes, these are solved problems. I'm unc and washed so I'm always late to adopt the newest workflows)
- recent models wrote a lot of unnecessary, convoluted code so reviewing was tedious
All those problems are solved now so I can experience flow again
- I got used to keeping track of many threads at a time. That also solved the feedback problem because with more threads there's always a result ready to look at somewhere
- Harness is set up to auto handle the admin: every thread is a new worktree, GitHub connector so it pushes and describes prs .etc
- opus 5.5 writes concise and clear code so reviews are painless
Feeling optimistic for the future of work
Borrowing USDC against Coinbase Tokenized Stocks is now possible on a dedicated @aave V4 instance on @base.
Coinbase Tokenized Stocks Spoke on @aave v4 lets users deposit stocks issued by @coinbase (AAPLc, AMZNc, GOOGLc, METAc, MSFTc, NVDAc, TSLAc) as collateral and borrow @circle USDC against them.
This allows users to keep their exposure to the stock without selling it while unlocking liquidity that can then be reinvested in other assets or spent, increasing capital efficiency.
Aave loans have no fixed term so users only need to keep a healthy LTV to avoid liquidation and they can repay the loan whenever they want.
In TradFi, borrowing against a stock portfolio means having access to a margin account that takes time and comes with account approvals, minimum balances requirements, and other broker terms
Aave v4 Coinbase Tokenized Stocks Instance reduces the complexity of this type of operation, opens access to more capital efficency, while leveraging onchain rails. At the same time, it brings more borrow demand for onchain assets that can pay a yield to users that want to provide liquidity to this market.
@DanielLockyer I use it to make low-effort weekend projects. The agent builds the whole app while I go about my day. I occasionally check our telegram to see the progress and nudge it to keep going
@stonecoldpat0@lightclients How does authorization work?
The upgraded wallet has a "delegation indicator" that points to the authorized contract. When a transaction is sent to the EOA, it executes the code of the authorized contract.
Ah, I see. Those authorizations are how regular EOA wallets get updated into 7702 smart wallets. That's different from how they transact once they been upgraded. The main ways they can transact are
- make a transaction calling their own address (which now functions like a contract)
- make a 4337 UserOp, if their code is 4337 compatible
- make a regular EOA transaction
- a relayer EOA calls the 7702 smart wallet
Looks like that dashboard only covers Ethereum mainnet. And doesn't cover all the different ways 7702 wallets can make transactions. I see a chart for 4337 UserOps made by 7702 wallets, but these wallets can also make smart txns by calling their own code, they can make eoa txns, and they can be called by non-4337 relays
I owe my career to Dune. Without the datasets, the open source code, and the guidance of team members like @0xBoxer and @andrewhong5297, I couldn't have started my crypto data science journey
Sad to see the free plan change, but its necessary. Compute is expensive, and Dune did the community an incalculably valuable service by offering free queries for this long
Dune is still a great product that I use in my everyday work. I'd still recommend it to anyone new to crypto data. $65 is great value for enterprise-grade crypto data infra
Today we are announcing that we are making the @Dune free plan view only. Meaning you can still look at all the amazing dashboards on Dune, but not run queries without a paid plan. The simple reason is that compute costs for running flexible queries over large amounts of data is very costly. We will still offer incredible value for money self-serve plans at $65 and $349 per month where you have access to vast amounts of blockchain data with completely serverless and hassle free querying. You can also try our very popular and powerful Plus plan on a 14 day trial when you sign up for a free account.
For years Dune has had a very generous free plan including free compute an data access. Hundreds of thousands of users have queried blockchain data with Dune, and millions of people have been exploring the dashboards created. We know of hundreds of users that have built a data career on top of Dune, and there are likely many more. We are grateful to everyone thatβs been exploring this data together with us. Iβm proud and humbled that weβve gone from @mewwts, me, some blockchain data in a postgres db and a few users in a Telegram channel, to reaching millions with the Dune platform and community.
During Duneβs 8+ years in business countless data providers have come and gone. And I can tell you that what is worse than losing access to free compute is to lose your mission critical data provider all together. The reason why weβve been able to stick around, and will keep sticking around, is because we adjust to the market. Thousands of industry leading businesses rely on Dune for their blockchain data, and they can safely keep doing that.
Some have called these plan changes the end of an era. And that might be right, but I think the new era is going to be bigger and more exciting. The blockchain industry is now mature enough that businesses and financial institutions are coming onchain at a blistering pace. Dune is all in on empowering them with onchain data. During this new era Dune data will keep reaching millions of people, businesses and AIs in our mission to make onchain finance observable.
The Dune team has provided millions of queries to the community for years for free, something no other platform has done. I honestly don't think we would be at the level of transparency we are in the space today without their work, many of the top data platforms you see today (blockworks, artemis, allium, etc) were bootstrapped off of their public queries/tables and the wizard community. They're just a very humble team so they won't publicly take credit for any of that.
I truly respect the team for continuing to make really hard decisions while shipping a better product. And its still insane value on the paid plans, I guarantee you will not get access to this quality of data and query engine for less than $500 on any other provider out there (will be in the multiple thousands of dollars) π
A lot of the community has been placed into roles at institutions like Stripe, Fidelity, S&P, etc too which have the money to pay - so the subsidies are mostly unnecessary now.
@takenstheorem They're a great opportunity to meet up with internet friends in person π. Just got to check if folk you know are going to the conference you're thinking about
we added first class support for B20 precompiles on herd, I believe we're the first explorer to correctly show its abi/code, deployments, and tx decoding.
this includes:
- B20 factory
- B20 asset/stablecoin
- ActivationRegistry
- PolicyRegistry
