most layer 1 discussions focus on consensus

but consensus is only one piece of the system

what matters just as much is how the network is organized

one reason i have been reading more about @RetiumChain is its mesh architecture

instead of thinking about the network as one giant machine where every validator does everything

retium introduces specialized roles that allow different parts of the protocol to focus on different responsibilities

it's an interesting architectural direction because scalability is not only about processing more transactions

it's also about organizing work more efficiently

documentation explains the idea

the upcoming public testnet will show how it performs in practice

that's what i am looking forward to seeing

good architecture should make complexity easier to manage
not simply hide it

everyone talks about blockchain scalability

i think a more interesting question is how work is distributed across the network

while reading about @RetiumChain
one concept that stood out to me was validator specialization

instead of expecting every validator to handle every responsibility

the architecture explores assigning specialized roles while preserving a consistent network state

that does not automatically make a blockchain better

but it can reduce unnecessary work improve resource efficiency and

create a stronger foundation for long term scalability

documentation is only the starting point

the upcoming public testnet will give the community a chance to

see how these architectural ideas perform under real network conditions

sometimes scalability is not about adding more validators

it's about giving each validator a smarter job to do
