Wintermute Ventures is excited to participate in BULK’s seed round!
They're solving the fundamental tradeoff in onchain trading: performance vs decentralization
World-class financial markets need specialized architecture and BULK is building that ↓
@PannonianMantis piano: Chopin
sensitive young man summer: Rossini
good side of communism: Shostakovich
other bangers: Strauss, Debussy, Rachimanoff, Tchaikovsky, Schubert, Vivaldi, Dvorak
the final boss meta of this cycle will emerge to become fully on-chain fair launched businesses
and the roots of this meta will never go away intra-cycle, only deepen and grow over time
shitcoins have served to antagonistically level out high fdv vaporware grift
and now that the landscape have been leveled we are still finding our footing with what "good" tokens will come in to fill the void, and how those tokens will be deployed into the market
ai was simply a representation of on-chain being interested in real builders and quality again
but the ai frameworks and marginal "flywheel" ai tokens only took us so far down this path... in terms of actual revenue being generated and being reinvested back into the token, smart money always recognized that these were really just shitcoins with a few extra steps (and sometimes a bit of revenue)
assuming market appetite will continue to skew towards quality on a long-term basis (inherently will as people lose money on accelerated grift in the short term)
it's only right that the market will also eventually skew towards fully on-chain co-ops. complete on-chain businesses that work, make money, and re-invest all of that money back into the token / distributions to holders / liquidity
i don't think the broader macro undertones that drove the shift to ai will simply retreat back into the hillside forever
no, there is a renaissance afoot here who's flame has been lit... and the market is finding it's footing amidst a new way to fund the ideas that matter
how long that will it take for market appetite to actually arrive to this point? i don't know... and i definitely won't be forcing trades in the interim
but it will happen

@ethanmlam tit-for-tat is a fantastic strategy to apply IRL. unkowingly played this strat as a platoon leader in the military; we reached the mutual niceness equilibrium fast and it held all the way through

> 0.05 p-value absolutely unacceptable. disgusting and untrustworthy—much better to data mine and overfit, change the data sample etc until the model yields 0.04999. now it’s statistically significant. now it’s science.
@BKAngryKing @Duderichy wydm reality of inflation never seems to factor in for those people, it’s not like they’re simply saving cash until their retirement
not sure how it works in other countries, but from where i’m from we have a pension system and parts of our wages automatically go there. all that goes to older generations and realistically we’ll retire extremely late if ever relying on that system as the age distribution gets increasingly skewed toward older population -> diminishing youth carry the retirement of an increasing portion of elderly folks. this is true, i’ve worked at a pension fund and they reminded me on a daily basis that i’ll never retire.
but i don’t understand the logic of not investing personally in indices etc, where inflation is naturally reflected on?
@Duderichy i guess it’s a culture thing then, i’ve never seen anyone who genuinely believes that it’s would be smarter to spend the money on having fun vs saving >$100 a month for retirement.
most don’t though, it’s a bit same than knowing alcohol is horrible for you but drinking anyways
