How do you run successfully a Gitcoin Grant? This is our 7th round and this is what I have learned so far:
💚 stay positive and do not deplete your energies
🙏 don’t be afraid to ask support, this is a key thing
🔥 use Twitter a lot, tweet at least 10 times a day
🤗 be generous, support great projects and always share a word of encouragement
⛔️ stay away from drama and extractive people
🧐 use these 2 intense weeks to meet new people and observe the one you already know.
🥳have fun and remember that there will be a new round soon

Driving home alone past 9 PM, just another usual night. Suddenly, an elephant appeared on the road. As always, I stopped, giving the majestic creature space to pass. But this time, it was 'Padayappa,' a local favorite. Unexpectedly, he turned and attacked my car, crushing the roof and windshield with his trunk! 🐘🫨
I had to make a quick escape—no time for talks with a musth elephant!
This 'Padayappa' spree continued for several weeks, lives lost and many vehicles damaged.
What could prevent/manage such encounters?
1. Early Warning Systems: Alert drivers in real-time when elephants are nearby, allowing them to avoid the area or proceed with caution.
2. Tracker Installation on Regular Visitors: Attach GPS trackers to elephants that frequently enter human-populated areas. This can help wildlife officials monitor their movements and send out alerts to local communities and drivers when these elephants are close to roads or residential areas.
3. Animal Corridors: Support and implement the creation of dedicated wildlife corridors that allow elephants and other animals to move between forest areas without needing to cross roads.
4. Community Education Programs: Educate on recognizing elephant behavior that may indicate stress or aggression and on safe practices to follow if an encounter occurs.
Would love to know your suggestions.

We have been working in collaboration with the Forest department in their initiative - 'Ecosystem Restoration' program,
providing on-ground efforts in implementing the task.
Soon, nature will flourish here once again, all on its own. Here's to a restored, resilient future! 🌍💚
From Dystopia to Eutopia (although it looks otherwise)!
150 hectares once dominated by invasive eucalyptus is removed so it'll transform back into thriving native ecosystems! 🌿
With a dedicated dao member leading the charge, we're nearing completion of this vital restoration.
Although a Tree, How is Eucalyptus a Threat to the Natural Biosphere?
1. Water Depleters: Eucalyptus trees drink a lot!
Their deep roots suck up groundwater, reducing availability for native plants and local communities.
2. Soil Spoilers: These trees change the soil around them, making it acidic and nutrient-poor. This harsh environment pushes out native flora, reducing plant diversity.
3. Biodiversity Killers: Eucalyptus can create vast monocultures, dominating the landscape and leaving little room for the rich biodiversity of the Western Ghats, one of the world's top biodiversity hotspots.
4. Invasive Tendencies: Fast-growing and hardy, eucalyptus trees can quickly overrun native ecosystems, transforming diverse habitats into single-species stands.
5. Fire Risks: Loaded with flammable oils, eucalyptus can turn a forest into a tinderbox. In an area like the Western Ghats, that’s not just dangerous—it’s potentially catastrophic.
Restoring the Western Ghats involves removing these threats and bringing back native vegetation, improving water retention, and supporting local wildlife. It's all about balance and resilience!✨

Despite India's rich heritage in Yoga and meditation, it's surprising that locals aren't embracing it as much.
We're committed to changing that by creating a dedicated space for meditation.
Are you inclined to solo practice or prefer group yoga retreats as a nomadic traveler?
