Why it could be worth it:

1) Backpack is on a different level compared to a typical PerpDEX — first and foremost, it’s a CEX

2) I wouldn’t call it a random low-tier exchange. They clearly have strong community backing and support from Dubai-based investors. Even the exchange token MEXC sits at a ~$720M FDV

3) Two years ago, everyone was saying this would be a long-term farm with no clear token timeline. So the fact that a full points program only launched about a year ago isn’t surprising. Before that, there were plenty of strong promos that delivered solid upside (ionet being the latest example)

4) I like how they approach the drop responsibly: sybil filtering via re-verification, point redistribution, etc. From my perspective, that’s a positive sign

5) IPO angle — the tokenomics include both Per-IPO and Post-IPO allocations. Potentially, this could become the first exchange to go public in this way. Sounds good in theory — execution remains to be seen

6) The token will be launched exclusively on their own platform

Why it might not be worth it:

1) Delays. We’ve been farming this for two years (Point 3 can definitely be interpreted both ways)

2) Not massive exchange volumes. A significant share appears to be wash trading from MadLads NFT holders who receive fee discounts

There are many other risks, but the biggest one is simply the market environment — everything is getting crushed right now. That said, I believe the team is smart enough to execute properly if the timing is right
