Tech tip #1: make sure to get youself a cold hardware wallet (trezor, ledger, lattice1, etc)
Tech tip #2: after connecting your hardware wallet on Metamask make sure to rename your default unprotected one to "DO NOT USE"
@Chinonxo_ LMAO jeez. You sleep with a prostitute and think your life is ruined? Think of that poor prostitute who has to sleep every single day with strangers lol
And I don't even think she feels nearly as bad about this as you do.
@evan_van_ness I agree. Centralized sequencers are simply bad products. Only use them as bridges myself. Gonna wait for how native rollups are going to turn out when they are properly implemented.
@ryanberckmans That's a good take. Yeah. BTC value accrual is very low. Also BTC is PoW and miners get their yield mostly from issuance. I think non native L2s are not necessary though, because they are bad products. Shit security for no value accrual. Bad UX. Bad composability.
Here is my Devcon talk arguing that Ethereum should not completely outsource L2 development, as this risks "Cosmosification." Instead, Ethereum should deploy 128 highly interoperable zk-based "native rollups."
This so much. A lot of dev work and investment from the EF is being allocated to security councils and interoperability for L2s that may or may not turn out to be ETH aligned. Unsecure L2s are getting paid well enough. I'd argue fuck them.
@dankrad Seems pretty clear that prioritizing native rollups and creating incentives for existing centralized corporate rollups to become native rollups is necessary, otherwise there will continue to be an economic imbalance between the L1 and L2s
@AlexanderB32932@CamiRusso And yet doesn't seem like native/based are getting prioritized by the EF. They are working very hard rn into making better security councils and interoperability. A lot of dev work going on for someone who might stab you in the back moving forward.
@sassal0x Non based L2s capture most of the MEV while paying very little by using blobs, and they tip for shit. ETH also is inflationary now. There should be more incentives for based and native rollups. There's no reason for any stage 0 rollup using a centralized sequencer to improve rn
Native rollups are Ethereum's secret weapon that almost nobody understands.
They'll unlock $100B+ in trapped ETH and revolutionize L2 security.
Here's exactly how π§΅
@sassal0x Well. I'm getting more and more partial to based rollups. Not just because of MEV value capture for L1 but because of composability. Hope we see more scaling going in that direction instead of stage 0 multisigs that are mostly free riders.
