0684/PAOLO SPACCAMONTI: What a satisfying name to pronounce. Go ahead, say it out loud a few times! Nice drones, too.

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

0683/L.D. MCDONALD: Folk ballads with driving backbeat that are instrumental, though I don’t feel they’re meant to stay that way.

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

0682/SELF: Glitchy, slightly industrial hip-hop with a nice flow that reminds me of early Common, Mos Def, etc.

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

0681/SUPPER: Classic folk-rock with a druggy tinge to it, sorta halfway between Stone Temple Pilots and My Morning Jacket...? Or not.

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

0680/THE AMBIENT LIGHT: Sent to us by a fan of theirs (awesome), but sounds like all the EITS-influenced demos we get (not as awesome).

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

0679/VAMPILLIA WITH TUJIKO NORIKO: Japanese avant-garde collective craft another eclectic blend of neoclassical Múm and Gothic Tom Waits.

@FightLikeSteve Nevermind, I wasn't trying to be mean. Elements of it seemed cheesy to me and I couldn't tell is that was earnest or ironic.

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

@FightLikeSteve I sincerely couldn't tell. Unfortunately loads of bands are ironic.

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

@1000TimesYes I can actually do it, I certainly have the demos for it, but I saw that you were only at 420 and it changed my perspective! ;)

I've had a revelation: Rather than scramble to reach 1K reviews this year, I'll take my time and get there when I get there. Viva la 2012!

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

0678/FIGHT LIKE ANIMALS: An unlikely mash-up of Ratatat, Joe Satriani and Explosions In The Sky. I can’t tell if it’s supposed to be ironic.

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

0677/PSYCHOFAGIST: Based on this self-proclaimed “avant-core” group, said genre refers to a cross between Meshuggah and Clockcleaner.

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

0676/MOYCANO: This raises an interesting question: Just how many bedroom George Michael wannabes do you think there are on MySpace?

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

0675/YOU SLUT!: This kind of noisy, slightly goofy prog-pop is a bit popular in the UK, which means By the End of Tonight should reunite.

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

0674/KELSEY ROSE: “Check out this young girl! She sings great & is Miss Dance America Winner 2010!” I mean…seriously?

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

0673/DEVIL BE GONE: Dark ‘90s-style indie rock, HEAVILY influenced by Swervedriver.

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

0672/HENRYTENNIS: Pogo-paced jazz-pop from Japan. It’s pristine and perfectly executed, as one might expect, but not blowing my mind.

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

0671/CALIFORNIA WIVES: Chicago New Wave pop that is pretty much an upbeat version of The American Analog Set. I miss those guys.

[Temporary Residence @1000TimesNo]

0670/ILLUSIVE MIND GYPSY CREW: Over 30 people play on this and not one of them was able to save this from itself.
