Idc if it's a placebo effect. When times feel stagnant in spite of all the effort put in I just imagine I'm just weathering times that could've been considered worse.
Sometimes it works and it's not necessary to know why right away.
@anthony_luca96 @holopleather Shouldn't the heads of the company be the one making that sacrifice? It's their business. Seems a tad rude to impose that on people just wanting to make a decent living and be able to afford to breathe.
@queensquests Still to this day remember an old man threatening my life as I messed up his club sandwich since there was like half a dozen other stuff I was trying to make.
It comes out of nowhere and then you're left to process it while the work day drags...
@IiGillette @ConSelfOwns Why are people equipped with this idea that whatever they grew up with is going to remain static for eternity?
Millions of years of everything constantly changing but apparently society hit perfection in 19-whatever year your memory developed.

Movies need more characters with quirks.
Like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible should be self-conscious about his inability to parallel park and that's why he compensates by jumping face first out of fighter jets.
@JediHeadHigh @Archtorial @LeftJaddi I can remember as early as 13-14 the experience having teachers and other influential adults claiming that it was a MUST to go to college/university and any other option wasn't even brought into conversation.
You know, the people we're expected and told to trust since birth.
@JediHeadHigh @Archtorial @LeftJaddi Ah yes let's have all the teachers/parents/college reps gaslight young children claiming "you will earn way more money if you go to college."
Don't recall anyone saying "now it's an option but given how the world changes you must consider other potential options too."๐
@sophsa I read this exact article this morning.
Didn't mention how rent is like way crazy higher and the couple in this article were making 400k combined and taking a year-long honeymoon.
Still ruminating about how clueless and/or ignorant WSJ is.
Today someone thought I was 25 and gave them Bryan Adams vibes.
The moral of the story is...
That 1/4" boost in height I got from my gel insoles DO MATTER! Tell everyone you know that's 5"11 or shorter.
