@_microbudgetpod Alex in Nashville here. Jack of all trades (writer, director, actor, cinematographer, editor, etc.). Recently finished post on my first micro budget feature and currently writing the second.
@_microbudgetpod I personally use DaVinci Resolve Studio but the free version packs a punch and can do most of what you could need.
Spent forever on Final Cut Pro X and it's come a long way. Super easy to learn and there's a ton of worthwhile plug ins.
@PoorOldRoloTony Caught this in the theater and loved every minute of it. It’s not perfect but it’s exactly what I was looking for… a fresh take on a tried and true genre.
@moonleeferguson I was brought on to shoot a third of a feature in one day. Director had no shot list and no real plan. We did 30+ pages that day. "Unfortunately", I was unable to shoot on the other day(s).

Please stop writing the worst movies of the year lists. No one sets out to make a bad movie. So many people work their asses off to try and do the best job they can so let’s not celebrate when something doesn’t work.
If you’re shooting a super indie project, you don’t necessarily need a production truck & 20 crew. Many times I’ve seen filmmakers with a very limited budget feel they need everything to seem like a studio set, then have no money left for post & try to crowdfund. Keep it simple
Not all filmmakers have aspirations to get to Hollywood.
Some of us are enamored with the idea of creating independently, on our own terms, with our community.
There is no right or wrong way to be a filmmaker 💜
