Peggy Flanagan had her chance as Minnesota’s lieutenant governor. What did she accomplish? $9 BILLION in fraud and stolen taxpayer money.
Now Bernie Sanders is saying she should be in the United States Senate.
Peggy would bring more far-left socialism and the same failed policies that have already cost Minnesotans billions.
Folks, we can win this Senate seat. It starts on August 11.
A New Jersey construction worker secretly claimed a $24 MILLION lottery jackpot without telling his coworkers. He had been buying tickets together with them for years as a group. He told them he was taking time off work for foot surgery. He had actually quit to collect his winnings. A year later they found out.
– Americo Lopes was a Portuguese immigrant living in Elizabeth New Jersey.
– He worked as a construction worker and had been buying Mega Millions lottery tickets every week as part of a five-man work syndicate with his colleagues for years.
– In November 2009 he claimed a $38.5 MILLION Mega Millions jackpot and chose the lump sum payout of $24 MILLION after taxes.
– He told his coworkers he needed foot surgery and would be taking time off work. He never went back.
– For nearly a year none of his coworkers knew what had happened to him.
– Then one of them discovered the truth
– Lopes had claimed the jackpot that their group had won together and kept every dollar.
– Five coworkers sued him in 2010.
They provided evidence in court of their longstanding arrangement to pool money and split any winnings equally.
The group had been playing together for years.
– Lopes argued the winning ticket was purchased with his own personal money and had nothing to do with the syndicate.
He said the group arrangement had ended before the winning draw.
– The jury did not believe him. They ruled in favour of his five coworkers and ordered Lopes to hand over $20 MILLION, leaving him with just $4 MILLION of his original $24 MILLION payout.
– He had also already spent a significant portion.
– He had bought a million-dollar home and moved out of his working class Elizabeth neighbourhood within weeks of the win.
– His coworkers each received approximately $4 MILLION after the court order.
A construction worker secretly claimed a $24 MILLION jackpot his work group had won together, told his colleagues he needed foot surgery, and quietly moved into a million dollar house. A jury gave $20 MILLION of it back to the people he stole it from.
John Tudor had twice as many shutouts in 1985 as Max Scherzer has in his entire career. And he didn’t even win the Cy Young Award. Now get off my lawn, you peckerheads.
Democrats magically found a conscience on Graham Platner.
Funny how that works.
They didn’t discover a moral compass. They discovered bad polling.
That’s what career politicians do. They stand by despicable behavior until you become a liability, then cut you loose.
I’m not a politician, and I’m done standing on the sidelines.
@notgaetti Have to think that’s one of the easier position Rushmores to agree upon. The guys in tier below like Aparicio, Larkin, Trammell, Reese, Vaughan could even legitimately be argued against any of them. Yount would have a case, but don’t think he spent enough time at SS.
RIP CHARLIE MOORE
Solid player for the Brewers for a long time. He was RBI #2,297 for Hank Aaron, the final RBI of Hank’s career.
Here he takes a single by Fred Lynn in the ‘82 ALCS & guns down Reggie Jackson at 3B with Cecil Cooper & Molitor also showing up. 80s greatness.
At some point in 1987, I came home from middle school and watched Braves baseball on TBS.
John Sterling was the announcer.
Ted Turner owned the team & station the game was on.
Bobby Cox was the Braves GM.
40 years later we lose them all in the same week. Each one an icon.
Mark Cuban says taking out a loan to go to college is the dumbest thing you can do
"If you can't afford it you can't afford it. Don't take out a ton of loans and f#ck up your future"
"I tell people go to community college. Accounting class is accounting class whether it's at a community college or at Harvard"
"The delta between the most basic four year school and the best public universities is really small"
