I’m coming back to twitter to say that silence is not consent, hesitation is not consent, “okay” is not consent. Anything short of enthusiastic “yes” is not consent.
I was raped a year ago. The who, when, and how don’t matter. What matters is that I understand amount of courage it takes to keep living after that, to wake up every day and try to remember how to be human again. I can’t imagine what it takes to come forward publicly.
Logging back onto twitter for the first time in like 6 months to tell you to support @internetarchive, who just lost their case against four of the largest publishing companies in the world. If you don't know, IA is responsible for the WayBack Machine among other things.
@internetarchive I'm in a small, not wealthy country working at an academic library. The IA is the *only* way students and faculty can access many of the books needed for their studies. We won't be buying the books if access is taken away, and will have to go without. It would be a real shame.
