Israeli occupation forces issued a military order to seize 30 hectares (74 acres) of Palestinian land near Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, under the pretext of public-use expropriation, according to a Palestinian official cited by Anadolu Agency.

Moayad Shaaban, head of the Colonization Resistance Commission, said the order targets land in Jabal Al-Fureidis and is intended to advance an Israeli archaeological project.

He added it is the third such order since the start of 2026 and part of broader efforts to expand control over Palestinian land for settlement-related purposes.

He also noted that 17.1 hectares were previously declared state land in 2024, warning that such measures contribute to de facto annexation in Area C of the West Bank.
