Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning accused the United States on Tuesday of politicizing technology after the US Department of Homeland Security banned the Chinese artificial intelligence model DeepSeek from civilian government agencies.

The department did not detail its issues with the model beyond security concerns, adding that the ban came after a review of Federal Acquisition Security Council recommendations.
