After opening as a 7.5-point favorite over USC in August, the Buckeyes are now listed as 6.5-point favorites over the Trojans despite Julian Sayin's injury. https://t.co/vBLU0dv56f
Julian Sayin’s injury almost certainly means he’ll be playing college football in 2027, but Ohio State will still have a starting quarterback decision to make next season. https://t.co/RcXwdyHwmS
Luke Fahey is the favorite to start against USC, but Tavien St. Clair is also getting first-team reps as Ohio State prepares for the Trojans.

Ryan Day is hoping for better officiating from the Big Ten going forward after turning in numerous examples of missed calls from last week’s game against Indiana.
“Quite honestly, there was accountability taken. But sometimes you feel like it's a day late and a dollar short. I think these guys are trying. I think they mean well. But we know these are big decisions that change people's lives,” Day said.

Ryan Day says he’ll take feedback from coaches and players on Luke Fahey and Tavien St. Clair, and “a foul is a foul” on Jeremiah Smith, even if he brushes off pulls and bumps. https://t.co/exlnTF6GmP
Ryan Day on officiating for Jeremiah Smith: “When you’re talking about Jeremiah in particular, he’s so big and strong, and I mention this to the guys all the time when we’re going into these games: a tug, a pull or a bump on Jeremiah based on almost anybody else in the country would look a lot different. A foul is a foul. A foul is a foul. … We got to recognize those types of things.”
Ryan Day said Ohio State sent Big Ten officials more than 10 plays against Indiana to review.
“I don’t want to break any confidentiality of what goes on, but yeah, I think it’s fair to see we all saw — you can see the still pictures, you can see what was. Those are game-changing plays. I know they’re working hard to make sure it’s right and to get it right, but there was a handful of plays in that game that certainly were big plays.”
Ryan Day on Jeremiah Smith: “Although he only had four catches, there were two of them that we didn’t get calls on that we really had opportunities to do something with. There were targets there and opportunities there.”
Ryan Day on Luke Fahey vs. Tavien St. Clair: “Ultimately, I make the final decision, but you take the input from the coaches, take the input from our personnel department and then the players as well. They’re the ones in the huddle with these guys. That’s what it comes down to.”

Ohio State improved its "resiliency and toughness and grit" from the first to second exhibition game, but the Buckeyes still need to improve their rebounding. https://t.co/iJbRc8GWFh
Just like Ohio State did with Julian Sayin in 2025, Ohio State will likely keep it simple for either Luke Fahey or Tavien St. Clair, all while maximizing Jeremiah Smith's usage. https://t.co/hYtDNmq6ym
