Today is a joyful day for nearly 40 lakh mothers and sisters of Assam. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister @Himanta Biswa Sarma ji, ₹9,000 each has been transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), amounting to about ₹3,685 crore, to support women’s empowerment.
I attended the fund distribution programme with local residents at Bengbari under the Tangla Legislative Assembly Constituency.
Also present were Shri Satya Boro, President of Bengbari VCDC, Shri Moni Kalita, Vice-President of Khalingduar Mandal of Bharatiya Janata Party, along with other dignitaries.

Today, I visited the residence of eminent social worker and resident of Orang in Udalguri district, Shri Sumesh Mahato, and enquired about his well-being as well as that of his family members.
The horrific lyn*hing of Dipu Chandra Das, just 90 km from Assam’s border, is a tragedy. We condemn in the strongest terms the barbaric act of publicly burning a man alive and pray for his Sadgati.
This incident is also a stark reminder of the dangers posed by demographic shifts. We have seen how targeted threats and propaganda can escalate into real-life violence. Protecting our people, culture, and territorial integrity is now a national priority, especially as Hindus are becoming minorities in several districts of the region.
Assam sits on a ticking time bomb making vigilance, awareness and action all more imperative.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Cha Shramik Protsahan Yojana (PM-CSPY), today I laid the foundation stone of the rest house to be constructed at Majuli Tea Estate under the Cha Shramik Ashray Yojana (CSAY).
On this occasion, the Manager of Majuli Tea Estate, Shri Ejaz Alam, BJP Nonai Serfang Mandal President Shri Ashok Mahato, BJP Tea Morcha State Vice-President Shri Khagen Tanti, Tea Morcha Nonai Serfang Mandal Secretary Shri Barun Hadiya, along with eminent social worker Shri Deepak Nayak, were also present.

A leader known for his energy, clarity of thought and firm ideological grounding, he has consistently strengthened the organisation. His contributions as a Minister in Bihar and as Prabhari of Chhattisgarh stand out for their administrative efficiency and organisational impact.
