Lee Mujin Finds a New Home at Mound Media’s New Label

Singer Lee Mujin is teaming up with the comprehensive entertainment company Mound Media to make a fresh start.

On the 10th, Mound Media’s new label announced that it had signed an exclusive contract with Lee Mujin. A label representative stated, “We are delighted to be working with an artist who possesses not only unparalleled vocal talent but also songwriting skills,” adding, “We plan to provide both material and moral support so that Lee Mujin can fully unfold his unique musical world.” The name and brand identity (BI) of the label, which will serve as Lee Mujin’s new home, are set to be unveiled in the future.

Lee Mujin, who debuted in 2018 with his first single, rose to prominence as a rising star in the music industry after placing third on the 2020 JTBC audition program “Sing Again: The Battle of Unknown Singers.” Since then, he has solidified his position as a powerhouse in the music industry, with every song he releases—including “Traffic Light,” “When It Snows,” and “Episode”—becoming a mega-hit. He has also gained widespread popularity by contributing to the soundtracks of numerous hit dramas, enhancing the viewers’ immersion in the stories.

His activities both on and off stage are equally impressive. Lee Mujin has delivered captivating performances at various live concerts and festivals, while also earning recognition for his steady hosting skills as the main MC of the web variety show “Leemujin Service” for over four years. [Exclusive] Lee Mujin, Who Won Lawsuit Over Unpaid Wages, Finds a New Agency… Signs with Mound Media

According to a MyDaily report on the 10th, Lee Mujin has signed an exclusive contract with Mound Media.

Mound Media owns several labels, including Marummo (home to Lee Seungyoon), Authentic (home to Han Roro), and Magic Strawberry Sound (home to Soyou). Lee Mujin has signed with a newly established label under Mound Media, making him its first signed artist.

Lee Mu-jin appeared on JTBC’s “Sing Again – The Battle of Unknown Singers” in 2020 and finished in third place. He is widely regarded as the top singer discovered by “Singer Again” and has released hit songs such as “Traffic Light,” “Coming of Age Story,” and “Episode.” He subsequently signed an exclusive contract with Big Planet Made in March 2022.

However, last month, he filed a lawsuit against Big Planet Made seeking a preliminary injunction to suspend the exclusive contract, claiming he had not received his royalty payments, and won the case last month. Lee Mujin had not received royalty payments for the second to fourth quarters of last year and the first quarter of this year, leading him to notify the agency of his intention to terminate the contract and file the lawsuit; it is understood that the unpaid royalties through last year amounted to 2.1 billion won.

He has signed an exclusive contract with Mound Media and is set to return with a new album and promotional activities.
