Honestly, I wish MORE of y’all would punch people who harm/hurt/malign/demean Black women and femmes. I wish more of y’all did something/anything when we’re used as the perpetual punchline.

@_Trapitalism I ended up going with a used PRO-JECT essentials. Audio Technica makes some decent ones. You could also find a used OG Sony/pioneer/RCA from the 80s/90s and those would be good too. Might need a new needle but they were solid asf.
@_Trapitalism I had a crosely portable record player and it looked exactly like the one in the pic - had the same problem with newer records. I ended up just buying a new record player and now all my old/new records work fine.
@_Trapitalism Could be a couple of things 1) some of newer records are 180g pressings which means they’re thicker so lower end quality needles have problems 2) needle/arm may be too heavy or light - usually the arms have a counter balance at which you can adjust.
