@EinSchwarzwelt They lost to Bahrain at home in the most recent World Cup Qualifying. It was Bahrain’s only win in that group. https://t.co/pVDlI4NShW | https://t.co/mGHAJlqQbJ
@_steve_o_@AdamCrafton_ It’s not just an American decision. Mexico, Canada, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Australia, Middle East/North Africa have all cut away to commercial. https://t.co/G6XX3ESKxq
@nycbbhistory The security issue was at an empty Garden during the Covid Big East Tournament: everything was really weird and people were all on edge. Worked out well for him at the end though!
@cbrennansports It absolutely was not seen as the perfect size for the WNBA. Everyone thought it was bullshit because Ted wanted a publicly funded practice facility for the Wizards and used the WNBA team and the G League team as a fig leaf to get it. https://t.co/D3yN6rWzGJ
@the_ason We had a head start bc:
- Title IX
- Europe not supporting women’s soccer because they thought it was unladylike and competed too much with the men’s.
Those days are over and we’re falling behind, coasting on past glories.
We lost in the round of 16 in 2023! Worst finish ever.
College football burners had one weekend of “The European Mind Can’t Understand Our Beautiful Tradition” and today we got “weak suspension because of gambling addiction”, something very familiar to them. https://t.co/GeEEqEwMqg | https://t.co/jFfwquODuV
We’re not so different!
Brendan Sorsby cannot play in Texas Tech's first two games, which was the penalty his legal team suggested to the NCAA. Tech opens with Abilene Christian and then travels to Oregon State. (No. 5 below).
@EVbetsNU@DerekChrist@dabearsblog The NCAA is HQed in Indianapolis and they have Indy host one Final Four every 5 years. It’s not a good comparison for other cities.
Detroit has hosted 1 Final Four since Ford Field opened in ‘02 (will host next year); Minneapolis also 1 since 2016 (not in the upcoming rotation).
The Georgetown Ed Cooley Era Tournament is here!
To celebrate Coach Cooley’s first three seasons on the Hilltop, I"ve put together a bracket featuring the most memorable Hoyas from the Cooley era, so far (this does not include new transfers for this upcoming season)
From freshmen stars to transfer standouts, only one player can be crowned the face of Georgetown Basketball’s Ed Cooley era.
Voting begins tomorrow.
Sure but that would also be bullshit
Ewing won a championship with Georgetown, and played nearly every game and heavy minutes
“Dave Cirilli” was cappin’ and Bill ran with it cause he hates NY sports teams
The Bledsoe Theory would be a far superior name
Half of the starters in the NBA Finals are out of the Big East:
Knicks:
Jalen Brunson (Villanova)
Mikal Bridges (Villanova)
Josh Hart (Villanova)
Spurs:
Stephon Castle (Connecticut)
Julian Champagnie (St. John’s)
🔮 WAY TOO EARLY 2026-27 GEORGETOWN PREDICTIONS 🔮
Record: 22-10
Big East: 11-9
Big East Finish: 5th
NCAA Tournament: ✅
Projected Seed: 8/9
The backcourt talent is the best Georgetown has had in years with Jaland Lowe, Elmarko Jackson, Kayvaun Mulready, and Vyctorius Miller leading the way.
The biggest questions remain in the frontcourt. How quickly can Chol Machot develop? Will Georgetown add more size? And can this roster find enough consistency defensively?
Can Justin Caldwell carve out a major role as a freshman and provide much needed frontcourt depth?
And what should expectations be for Athan “AJ” Olivier, one of the biggest wild cards on the roster heading into next season?
I think the Hoyas are finally back in the NCAA Tournament conversation and have a legitimate chance to finish in the upper half of the Big East.
What’s your prediction?
@GaTechAlum_IE92@mattpressberg Yea, those are the championships. The knockouts aren’t going to have trouble selling out.
The issue is pricing Uzbekistan v DR Congo at $500 a pop.
