They shot a one-year-old over diapers.

Let that sit for a second. Let it curdle in your gut. Kohen Kartier Wiley, one year old, dead because police opened fire on a car over a so called shoplifting incident. The mother, they said, might have taken diapers. Then Fox 13 Memphis showed the video. She wasn't driving toward the officers. She was trying to signal there was a baby in the car. Some of the officers later admitted they saw the child.

But they fired anyway.

After they killed him, after they tore that family apart, they claimed she was driving at them. Standard procedure now, right? We set the precedent with Renee Good. Lie, then hide behind the lie. The shooter... the murderer... is on paid administrative leave. A vacation funded by the blood of an infant. And the mother? No charges. Not a one. She didn't steal a damn thing.

First, even if she had. Even if she was desperate, holding her baby, taking diapers to keep him clean. You see that, you see a mother and child, and your first thought is to unload your weapon? If I see someone stealing diapers, no, I didn't. Not a thing. But that's not the world we built. We built a world where the violence is always justified, always excused, by the police and their apologists. The same overuse of force, the same tear gas they used on protesters who dared to mourn a one-year-old.

It's Mississippi. Color me surprised.

The racism, the hatred, it ferments from the top. It's in the water supply of our leadership, and it trickles down into the barrels of police guns. A black mother, a black child, a receipt, none of it matters when the script calls for a threat.

And here's where the acid really burns. You'll see the posts. The sanctity of life proclamations. The Facebook groups and Instagram slides quoting Matthew 18:6 with solemn piety. "But whoever causes the downfall of one of these little ones..." They'll post it about the unborn, about the hypothetical. They'll wrap themselves in the verse like a shield. But when a real, breathing, one-year-old boy is killed by the state, when his name is Kohen and his skin is brown, the silence is deafening. Or worse, like in this case... the justification begins.

They were never pro-life. They were pro-birth and pro-control. Pro-control of women, pro-control of bodies, pro-control of who gets to be seen as human. Watch them now. Watch the so-called Christians, the fake faithful, twist themselves into knots to explain why this murder is acceptable. Because the mother was black. Because the baby was black. Because the system they uphold needs black blood to water its roots.

"But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea."

They love that verse when it's about a clinic. They love it when it's abstract, when it's a political slogan. But when the millstone is a badge, when the sea is a Mississippi street soaked in tear gas and a mother's screams, they look away. They always look away.

The same posts that preach sanctity for the unborn will scroll right past Kohen's story. They'll share another graphic about abortion, another call to prayer, while a real child lies dead and the men who killed him are on paid leave. The hypocrisy isn't just ugly. It's lethal. It's the oxygen that lets this keep happening.

We're not surprised. We can't afford to be surprised anymore. We have to be angry. We have to be the ones who won't look away, who won't let the verse be weaponized only when it's convenient. The little ones are right here. They're in the cars, in the arms of their mothers, and we're drowning them in the depth of our indifference.

Kohen Kartier Wiley should be alive. He should be learning to walk, to say words, to smear food on his face. Instead, we have a receipt, a video, and a hole in the world where a baby used to be.

And a millstone, waiting for every one of us who lets this stand.

The U.S. government just made a land deal with the world's first trillionaire. Not a sale. A trade.

Because apparently that's how we do things now.

715 acres of the Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge - built by Congress in 1979 to protect one of the most biodiverse wildlife corridors left in North America - handed to SpaceX.

Endangered ocelots. Aplomado falcons. Piping plovers. Land the Carrizo/Comecrudo Nation of Texas has called sacred since long before there was a United States.

SpaceX built a rocket launch site next door. Then came the explosions. Concrete and metal hurled six miles across refuge land. A 2024 study found that after one launch, every single monitored shorebird nest near the site suffered egg damage or loss. The Fish and Wildlife Service's response was not enforcement. It was a land swap.

FOIA documents show internal planning for this transfer started as early as April 2025 - while Musk was running DOGE and threatening to fire federal workers who didn't justify their jobs to him. The agency developed what they called "the most expedited schedule possible" to get it done.

Part of what's being handed over includes the Palmito Ranch Battlefield - the site of the last battle of the Civil War. A National Historic Landmark. Once transferred, SpaceX can restrict public access whenever they want.

25,000+ people submitted public comments. Most opposed the deal. The government moved forward anyway.

A coalition of tribal and conservation groups filed a federal lawsuit this week to stop it. Because someone has to.

Why are we cutting real estate deals with a trillionaire when we could have just made him pay for it?

And you're calling Greenland poorly run?
Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no.

An independent review of 72 separate studies found that an average of 29% of men surveyed admitted to having committed sexual assault, and 6% admitted to having committed at least one rape. When they changed the wording from “have you committed rape” to “have you forced a woman to have sex with you,” that last number jumped up to 12%. And these were just the men who were willing to admit their crimes to total strangers.

Women and girls live with the threat of rape and sexual assault hanging over our heads like the sword of Damocles from the moment we draw our first breath until our bodies are so decomposed that sexual violation is no longer physically possible.

There is no such thing as a female human being who is so old, so young, so ugly, so fat, so dirty, so smelly, so physically or mentally disabled, so mentally ill, so comatose, or so dead that no man will rape her. Homeless women experience especially high levels of sexual violence — but no woman or girl is ever immune.

The youngest victim of sexual assault of whom I am aware was abused on video even before her umbilical cord was cut. The youngest rape victim - and I do mean rape - that I’m aware of was two hours old. The oldest was 93.

In my personal experience, I’ve worked with rape victims who were as young as 3 months old, and the oldest victim I’ve personally seen was 89. I didn’t work with her, though — she died of shock and blood loss on her own kitchen floor after her male assailant shoved two and a half feet of mop handle into her vagina three times, the last time so savagely that you could see the end of it protruding as a lump under her skin about two inches below her sternum.

25% of US women will report a rape at some point. 63% of rape goes unreported, and 90% of rape victims are women. You do the math.

And that’s in the US, where women and girls aren’t legally able to be sold into marriage against our will. A girl forced into marriage may be raped tens of thousands of times over the course of her life, and none of it is ever reported, or included in the already horrific statistics on the sexual abuse of women and girls — the latter of whom make up 82% of abused children, even though preferential pedophiles (men who are only interested in children) usually go for boys.

Girls are the favored target of opportunistic offenders, men who sexually abuse children simply because they can. In other words, the overwhelming majority of child predators are men who abuse little girls for no other reason than the fact that they are both female and vulnerable. They’re not abused specifically because they are children, but because they are girls.

Now imagine what it’s like to grow up with this knowledge: to have to be constantly on your guard around half the population from childhood on. To live side by side with the beings most likely to violate and murder you — and who, when you try to discuss the subject, get angry, accuse you of either not trusting good men or being too trusting of the bad ones, and do everything in their power to pin the blame for their behavior squarely on you.

Every woman knows multiple rape survivors, if she’s not one herself — and so does every man. More to the point, perhaps, is that every man also knows men who sexually assault women - whether or not he is aware of their behavior, or will admit to it if he is. Furthermore, I have never discussed sexual assault/male violence with a woman who didn’t turn out to have a story of her own. Not even once, not in 42 years.

And you know what’s really gross? The fact that I can tell you these things, and your first concern is automatically whether or not I prefaced my statement with a disclaimer that allows you to tell yourself that it’s not your problem.

You must provide your ID, but they can wear masks and conceal their identities.

You must comply with every order, even when they ignore the very laws they’re sworn to uphold.

You’re told to prioritize the officer’s “safety,” while his masked buddies surround your car armed to the teeth.

You can't be armed, but they’re armed with military-grade weapons and authorized to use them to enforce compliance.

You can't protest or "interfere", but they can enter your homes, detain your children, and kill your neighbors.

You can't film them, but they can monitor your movements, scan your license plate, and track your location in real time.

You can be fined and imprisoned for one wrong move, but they’re shielded by qualified immunity, and legally allowed to deceive you during questioning.

At some point, the power dynamic reversed.
Public servants became untouchable authorities, and abuse of power was rebranded as “order.” In the process, we’ve normalized state-sanctioned extortion, brutality, and subservience to law enforcement.

If these profound double standards don’t alarm you, it’s not because they aren’t there. It’s because you’ve been trained not to notice. That’s how we got here.

I need to say something that's been bothering me for a while, and I'm saying it as a Marine Corps veteran who leans center-right.
This isn't partisan. This is observation.
We've slow-faded into accepting militarized police as normal, and nobody seems to notice or care.
Even as a USMC pilot, I went through six months of infantry training as an officer before flight school. I've worn the gear. The helmet, the tactical vest, the whole kit. And I can tell you from experience, it changes you.
There's a psychological shift that happens when you strap that stuff on. You feel different. You carry yourself different. You start seeing the environment differently. In the Marine Corps, that shift was appropriate because it's a combat culture and organization.
But these are American streets. American citizens. And we've got law enforcement dressed like they're kicking down doors in Fallujah to serve warrants in suburbia.
What happend to high standards and real policing tactics? Think Adam-12...Officers Reed and Malloy. Crisp uniforms. A revolver. A baton. High standards and professionalism. They looked like public servants because they were public servants. They de-escalated. They talked to people. They were part of the community.
Now? Tactical gear, beards, ball caps, Oakley sunglasses, sleeve tattoos, and a tactical kit that would make special operators jealous. And we've turned it into a fetish. We celebrate it. We assume that because someone looks hard, they must be a professional.
They're not.
I loved the Marine Corps. But I'll be honest, I was also blinded by it for a while. Mission first. Unit over everything. And that mentality made sense in that context.
But law enforcement doesn't get that critical examination. "Back the Blue" has become a shield against accountability. A blanket assumption that a badge plus gun equals hero. That tactical gear equals competence.
It doesn't.
Most people who join law enforcement aren't special operators. They're average people who desperately want to belong to something bigger than themselves. I understand that impulse deeply, it's why I joined the Marines. But wanting to belong doesn't make you qualified. Looking the part doesn't mean you can perform under pressure. And wrapping yourself in warrior aesthetics doesn't make you a warrior.
Old school law enforcement represented something. Standards. Bearing. Discipline. Professionalism that was demonstrated, not costumed. A revolver and a baton meant you had to rely on your training, your words, your judgment, not overwhelming firepower.
What I see now in law enforcement is the costume without the culture. The gear without the training. The authority without the accountability.
Are there good people in law enforcement? Of course. I know some personally. But this reflexive "law enforcement can do no wrong" mentality is lazy, dangerous, and intellectually dishonest.
A woman is dead. And before we sort ourselves into teams and start assigning blame, maybe we should ask harder questions:
Why do we accept a militarized police force as normal?
Why do we assume tactical gear equals tactical competence?
Why have we let "Back the Blue" become a substitute for actual standards?
I wore the uniform. I went through the training. I know what that gear does to your head.
It shouldn't be normalized on American streets against American citizens.
And we shouldn't pretend everyone wearing it is qualified to carry it. The fact that he called her a “fucking bitch” after he shot her three times should be a huge red flag for all of us.

Here's my theory about what this is actually about. Using data from the State of Texas covering six years, a study sought to determine which populations commit the most crimes. The groups were U.S. born citizens, naturalized citizens and the undocumented (illegals). The statistics showed the undocumented were FAR less criminal than the other two groups (see graph). So, why are they lying? Why are the undocumented being portrayed as violent offenders? It finally dawned on me what was being done. The illegals were being made the scapegoat. This is very similar to what was done to the Jews in 1930s Germany. A political trick out of the political playbook is to denigrate a minority population and blame societies problems on them. And choosing to target the "brown people" is genius (diabolical) because due to their status they cannot speak up, fight back or defend themselves in any way. What I am about to say next may surprise you. The whole campaign has little or nothing to do with the undocumented. The entire "problem" is the Trojan Horse that has given cover to the DC crowd to justify spending an additional $75 billion to create a paramilitary, irregular police force that wears masks, arrives in unmarked vans and answers only to the political class. We now have on American soil our very own Gestapo. This was the goal all along and manufacturing the "illegals problem" was how they made it happen.
