How can HIPAA be upheld when online medical records are available to all healthcare individuals? #hsop2012

[12au33 @12au33]

@12au37 At the hospital where I worked, we had over 50 Pyxis machines, and we refilled each of them at least 5 times a day. #hsop2012

[12au33 @12au33]

@12au142 Wait until a pharmacist could come fix it/ authorize the machine. If needed stat, the pharmacy could refill the order. #hsop2012

Pyxis made life so much easier when I was a technician at our hospital. It occasionally needed technical help though. #hsop2012

How does a DDN ensure there is no violation of HIPAA? #hsop2012

[12au33 @12au33]

A DDN seems like its eliminating the pharmacist-patient contact and communication. #hsop2012

Robots sometimes waste more time and effort than they save. #hsop2012

[12au33 @12au33]

The robot at the chain pharmacy where I work is hardly ever accurate. We have to recount everything that comes out. #hsop2012

Dr's handwriting may lead to mistakes, but at least it ensures the identity of the physician. E-scripts could lead to forgeries. #hsop2012

[12au33 @12au33]

Are there any worries about HIPPA violations with pharmacies using e-scripts?? #hsop2012

[12au33 @12au33]

It seems like the more these alerts are ignored, the less Pharmacists are likely to pay attention to the important ones. #hsop2012

Do preventable ADE's happen more often than the unpreventable ADE's?? #hsop2012
