SPRINGING INTO SPRING BREAK
SHHS teachers are showcasing best classroom practices while rocking some stylish garb this week. Mr. Couchman & Mr. Katzer were looking blazing fast for “Keeping on Track” day.

According to folks unhappy with this column, either genital inspections are unacceptable and no one would ever think of doing such a thing to our precious children, or such exams are no big deal and those snowflakes shouldn't complain. Please decide! https://t.co/IY54w6nS8d
Senator Steffen does not respond to emails, refuses to attend Reno County legislative public forums and won’t accept appt for visitors to his Capitol office. My elected Senator does not represent his constituents.
#vouchers in the #ksleg was never about the kids. It is the wholesale theft of money from the working class to the religious elite. Thankfully, too many hard working Kansans value their schools, kids, and finances to allow this out-of-state shell game to find root in our soil.
Kansans who believe in their neighborhood schools & the idea that our public schools are part of the foundation of our communities & our future, need to pay attention to what is happening in Topeka over the next 2 months #ksleg#ksed
Now the Kansas House & Senate are debating different bills attacking transgender children at the same time so you can’t follow both. So much hate so little time.
#ksleg
As some in the #ksleg are obsessing about student genitalia, educators are just doing what they can to keep LGBTQ+ students from being harassed or assaulted in Kansas schools. This isn't about body parts; this is about safety and learning. #ksed

Not only would this bill make school board races partisan, but it would prevent federal employees or active military from running for those spots Additionally, local govt already has the power to determine if they want partisan races. This is another example of #ksleg overreach.
Don’t be fooled. These education bills in the KS Statehouse collectively shift money away from public education. Our legislators had an opportunity to address the teacher shortage and special education funding. Make your voice heard. #ksed#ksleg
Kind of stunning news, SB 128 refundable income tax credit for students in private or home schools fails in committee. Bipartisan coalition defeats bill #ksleg#ksed
Exactly! The public good is tossed aside in the pro-voucher arguments. My taxes pay for roads I will never drive on, but those roads are good for our society. Just like public education. Generations of Kansans have invested in public schools. Let's not let them down!
The academic harm caused by #SchoolVouchers is one of the most robust findings of the last decade of #education policy evaluation.
Ten years now: all negative. Hugely so.
I can’t believe we’re even still having this f-cking conversation in 2023 🤦♂️

If a #ksleg politican tells you they want to spend the session fighting "woke ideology", they're really saying they have no ideas to make life better for you and your family.
I'll continue to focus on strong schools and infrastructure, lowering costs, and growing our economy.
