Exclusive: Convicted neo-Nazi terrorist Matthew Hankinson, who was jailed for six years for his membership of the proscribed neo-Nazi youth group National Action, was one of the far-right activists who travelled to Southport on Tuesday night.

The EDL hasn't existed for nearly a decade. In truth the riot in Southport was the result of an amorphous network of outright fascists, hooligans anti migrant racists and conspiracy theorists drawn from social media, Telegram channels and whatsapp groups.

Fascist group Patriotic Alternative (PA) are one of the groups behind a protest which has turned violent in Southport this evening. David Miles (aka Jack The Nipper) from the West Midlands, is one of the PA activists to have travelled to Southport.
