When is the GOP going to learn that you can't quiet people in 2023? All these state legislators are doing is highlighting and amplifying the up-and-coming representatives whose voices will replace them.
As I left the House chambers, I pressed my light to speakโa reminder that this legislature is removing 11,000 Montanans from discussion on every bill going forward.

It's official. The death penalty is no longer in state law. In 2014 I issued a moratorium. In 2018 the state Supreme Court deemed the death penalty unconstitutional. Now in 2023, passage of SB 5087 strikes it entirely from our statutes.
