We are writing to express our dismay at the fact that the Mayor of London’s recent Diwali celebration in Trafalgar Square, on Sunday, 27th October, was organised by a coalition of groups that perform a whitewashing or supportive function for the #Hindutva (Hindu supremacist) movement in #India and here in the UK, the most egregious of which is the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP).

We ask the #Mayor to reaffirm his commitment to London's #diverse population whilst ensuring that communities are represented in the best way possible, without supporting bad-faith actors or influence to any degree.
