@footballmemorys I remember having Donald Ford on a football card back in the early '70's,
the reason he always sticks in my head , was he also played cricket.
At the time I never even knew cricket was played in Scotland.
We always give Tango plenty of support here, and anyone giving him stick for no good reason should do their research before making assumptions. For a man that does so much for football and lower league clubs, the bad abuse he gets online is totally not warranted, football would be an incredible place with more people like him around 🙌
Keep smashing it Tango, we are behind you 👏🏻
From the Prince and Princess of Wales, Instagram. Sir Kevin receiving his knighthood. He does such amazing work and his last challenge of the seven and seven days was so inspiring.
Kevin Sinfield got his knighthood at Windsor this morning, from Prince William, who'd stood on a pitch in Wakefield eight days ago waiting for him to come in off a 45km run.
Seven challenges since 2020, every one of them built around the number 7, because that's the shirt Rob Burrow wore. Seven marathons in seven days. Seven ultra-marathons in seven days. Finishing lines he crossed with his friend in his arms. More than £11 million for motor neurone disease, and a research centre in Leeds with Rob's name on it that William opened last year.
He finished the last one in September. He said then it was the end. Today the country said thank you.
Rob used to tell people everyone should have a friend like Kevin. Lindsey Burrow said the same when the honour was announced. Rob died two years ago. He'd have been the first to call him Sir Kev and the first to laugh at it.
Some knighthoods you argue about. Not this one.
What a special man. Us families affected by Motor Neurone Disease will forever be so thankful for everything he has done. The commitment, the compassion and the relentless determination are something to be admired by all.
Thank you Sir Kevin Sinfield 🧡 #MND#7in7
Sir Kevin Sinfield said his late friend Rob Burrow was never far from his mind, as he received a knighthood for his services to the MND community.
The former Leeds Rhinos loose forward has raised millions of pounds for charity.

Ah well deserved😍🔥
Sir Kevin Sinfield, coach of the England Rugby team, was knighted for his services to rugby league, rugby union, and the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) community by the Prince of Wales this morning. He raised over £12 million for the cause.❤️🩹
In 2023, both Kevin and Rob were actually awarded a CBE. The UK honours system restricts individuals from receiving an upgraded honour within 3 years of their last one. Thus, now in 2026 he qualifies for the highest honor of knighthood.
He said today that his late friend Rob Burrow would have been "laughing but enormously proud" to see him receive his knighthood; And that he was "massively humbled by the whole experience and very proud to accept it on behalf of the MND community and their families"♥️
Congratulations to Sir Kevin👏🏽☺️
