@BhaktiBrophy @chrisfelcker@HowThingsWork_@RealPvtsam I believe everyone needs to know their relationship with the food they eat. Know where it comes from and what it takes to get to your plate. Accept the reality, or adjust your lifestyle as necessary.
I both hunt and buy meat from the store.
@chrisfelcker@HowThingsWork_@RealPvtsam Industrial farming to support vegans is also bad. It requires every living thing except the plant to be killed, down to the smallest insects. Hunting helps conserve natural habitats that benefit whole ecosystems. Nobody is exempt from harm against nature
@chrisfelcker@HowThingsWork_@RealPvtsam Hunting is much more humane than the commercial meat industry. The animals get to live a natural life. And hunting generates $1B annually in the US, and lots is used for wildlife conservation
@ieatfliesidoes @VeganImpi @BScotTanner@Anniescraftsha1@OTerrifying Industrial farming and urban development are the largest contributors to ecosystem destruction. Which is needed to support even vegan lifestyles. Funds generated from the sale of hunting licenses are used by states to conserve and protect wildlife resources
@LME_199@AccordingToGord@Toma_Kompanets@HowThingsWork_ Hunting generates almost $1B annually in the US. Most of that is used for wildlife conservation, preservation, and habitat restoration. Agriculture and grazing are direct threats to wildlife. Once endangered species like Canada Goose and Turkey were restored thanks to hunting $
@LME_199@AccordingToGord@Toma_Kompanets@HowThingsWork_ Side note, you can’t remove yourself from harm against nature. You live where wilderness used to be. Ecosystems are destroyed for agriculture to support plant based diets. Meat from the store comes from animals raised in captivity. Why should hunting be labeled as inhumane?
@Prof_Linder Maybe remove the tint color on the background and blur it a tiny tiny bit. I also think white text stands out better when doing the ol’ squint test
@shuttler2@TerribleMaps Yo, I live within this screenshot. Mostly everything is on a grid. Easterners usually think driving in straight lines would be boring, but we’re used to it here
