@woodwardsports@asktheduffer I’m sorry Yzerman wasn’t the issue, the issue is ownership, Yzerman had a second line center Stamkos ready to sign and Chris said no, how many other times has he done that? Larkin wants to win and Chris is to worried about making money and saving money vs winning.
@woodwardsports@asktheduffer This is BAD. They’d rather embarrass a redwing legend in #19, our Captain for life, for a grown man throwing a temper tantrum. Steve didn’t believe Dylan was it. He was right. @DetroitRedWings I know I’m just one fan, but I’m out until @Dylanlarkin39 is gone.
@KeeganTheCaniac Ron Francis as GM drafting likes of Aho, Necas etc while team sucks. 2 more GM changes since to get where they are now. Ground floor was laid. Likely a similar story with what Yzerman did in his tenure. He was just dealt a far worse hand to start with
@Pete___Hughes Be honest are you drafting Carels or Björck at 3 OA without any "need" in the system.
Love Carels as a good Manitoba boy but gun to my head as GM of the jets I'm drafting Björck. Assuming saying Carels going 3-4 is him or Björck
I will never forget watching Steve Yzerman give the following update on Vlady the day after the limo accident outside Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
He was fighting back tears knowing what Konstantinov and Sergei Mnatsakanov were dealing with.
I remember crying like a baby watching that live. Between 19's words and the looks on Shanahan and Draper's face you knew it was very, very bad.
Having that image in the back of my mind, I always wondered what Yzerman REALLY thought when Dylan Larkin CRIED at a press conference because pending UFA Tyler Bertuzzi was TRADED for a first round pick. A trade that Yzerman had to make for the rebuild. (The pick ended up getting the team Alex DeBrincat.)
Tyler Bertuzzi wasn't going to need a wheelchair to walk the rest of his life. Or have severe brain injuries. (Well ...) No. He was going to fucking BOSTON.
I am sure Dylan and Tyler could still FaceTime each other. It wasn't the end of the world. It was the NHL. A business. And the captain of the team blubbered like a child losing his pacifier.
I never got over the feeling that Yzerman lost a lot of respect for Larkin that day. And if Larkin's whiny behavior and trade demand is the reason Yzerman got "fired" today or it caused 19 to step down, I will never forget that.
Dylan Larkin is a FUCKING BITCH and anyone who wants him back at this point is a god damn joke.

@chrispronger Seider followed by Raymond and a host of good young prospects that are just scratching the surface. You are correct though, they need a 1C added to the core. Ditch Larkin and draft one in a loaded '27 draft. Illitch appears impatient though, don't like the direction it's headed
@JFreshHockey 9-10 NHLers in this list (>50%) plus players like Emmitt Finnie in the 7th rd. Not to mention the cajones to take Seider at 6th or Raymond at 4th when both were off the board selections. The problem is, most players drafted outside the top 10 don't turn into top NHLers overnight
