"Parents should be able to control their kid's online experi--" THEY ALREADY CAN. STOP WORDING IT LIKE THEY CAN'T.
DO SOME RESEARCH. TAKE AWAY THE PHONE. GIVE THEM A DUMB PHONE. ENABLE PARENTAL CONTROLS. BLOCK WEBSITES VIA THE ROUTER. HAVE AN ONLINE SAFETY TALK.
BE A PARENT.
1. This @nypost cover: “Thousands of 9/11 families demand Mamdani be banned from 25th-Anniversary” is a brazen lie.
How do I know?
I interviewed the organizer of the petition.
Why Mamdani will win every time.
This IS actually risky, because there *will* be lines, just like there were lines when the weed store opened, and the NY Post will run 9,000 articles about Soviet Era breadlines.
But he's doing it anyway. Because the Bronx and East Harlem need the kind of food Park Slope has, but at affordable prices.
This is what resonates with people in an era of evil vulgar opportunists: doing the right thing even if it's risky.
WHAT I HAVE BEEN WARNING FOR DECADES IS HERE, THANK YOU FOR YOUR BOOK BURNING TOO ANTHROOIC.
“Books that survived wars, fires, and centuries of handling are being shredded so an AI can learn to write a better marketing email”
We are the amnesia generation and this is The Great Forgetting.
As we draw closer to 9/11’s anniversary, I brace myself for the wave Islamophobia that will inundate our news cycle this fall, much of which will be directed at the Mayor. I know I’ll be fielding tons of press calls about it. Like him, I grew up here and was in the city that day. For almost a quarter-century, Muslim New Yorkers were never fully allowed to mourn as New Yorkers because we had to constantly defend ourselves as Muslims. But those identities are not in contradiction.
And these few families don’t represent the majority of New Yorkers or even the majority of those who lost loved ones.
PLAYSTATION GOES DARK ON AUGUST 23
seven days. consoles off on purpose.
- august 23, 7:00 pm local -> august 30, 7:00 pm local
- no logins. no sessions. no purchases on any sony platform
- called by @DoesItPlay1
sony ends disc production for every new playstation game in january 2028.
a new release becomes a download, or a box with a code in it.
the petition is approaching 350,000 verified names.
sony's public reply, twenty-six days in: nothing.
so the community stopped asking politely.
engagement is the number sony leads with every quarter, ahead of hardware.
the published figure only samples the last month of a quarter.
the internal dashboards read every single day.
a week-shaped hole in late august lands on someone's desk long before
november does.
a petition needs sony to choose to read it.
an empty server counts itself.
