The much-discussed data center moratorium bill has passed the Assembly. My constituents – many hundreds of you – asked that I back this piece of legislation. I thank you for your outreach. I heard you.
Appreciate @news4buffalo for the dialogue tonight:

Passed the Assembly today with unanimous support: My and Sen. Kavanagh's bill establishing a pilot program with @NYSERDA to fund residents' home weatherization and energy upgrades.
The goals? Save people money and ease access to better insulation and climate control measures. 🌎
If you ever get the privilege to visit the People's House, you will meet Wayne Jackson, our esteemed Sergeant-at-Arms. A combat-wounded veteran of Vietnam, he has held this role in the chamber since 1979, maintaining order on the floor.
Can't imagine Albany without him.
With my thanks to Chair @DidiBarrett106, I am co-sponsoring her bill to impose a one-year moratorium on new data centers, create a utility rate class for large energy users, and require that data centers be powered predominantly by renewables.

Wishing us all, the community and allies alike, a joyful #PrideMonth.
With my thanks to Senate-side sponsor Chris Ryan, I am so pleased to share that this has now passed both houses!
Next, on to the desk of @GovKathyHochul!
✔️ Just passed the Assembly: My bill requiring e-bike manufacturers to equip the vehicles with head- and tail lights before they're sold or leased in NYS.
This puts the onus on bike producers and sellers, with the aim of keeping riders and others safer, especially at night.
The Ken-Ton #MemorialDay Parade is a beloved event, offering us the occasion to see neighbors. Those who fell in service to our cherished republic – they are the ones to whom we owe this privilege.
We gather freely because of their sacrifice, and we do so in their eternal honor.
The fire service has long had ties to our military; the call of duty, and the acceptance of sacrifice, are the bonds that join them.
It was an honor to begin this #MemorialDay as I do every year, remembering the dearly departed members of our fire companies.
The Speaker was impressed – and together, we committed $4 million in state funding to close the gap for Mayor Tylec and his team, who'd already secured millions for the effort, including from our federal partners and @GovKathyHochul. A big congratulations, everyone!
Thrilled to break ground at the future Payne Park Aquatic Facility in NT! I brought Speaker Heastie here in '24 to learn from Mayor Tylec about the potential of this project to transform recreation, facilitate swimming lessons, and enhance wellness for generations to come.
We have begun adopting a budget. First, education:
✔️ Foundation Aid is up for the five districts I represent
✔️ Expanded UPK across NYS
✔️ Restored Teacher Center funding
✔️ $2M for TeachNY
✔️ Free school meals for all
✔️ Postponement of the electric bus mandate
A good bill.
Budget talks continue today in Albany, with a focus on education. Assemblyman Bill Conrad (@140thBill) has an update on what's being worked on. https://t.co/J0MC2I997b
Congratulations to my friend and colleague, Assemblywoman Karen McMahon, on our chamber's adoption today of her bill to increase the income tax credit for our volunteer first responders. A bipartisan win for local firefighters and medics.
I was proud to co-sponsor.
This corridor of the Capitol bears the faces and names of the neighbors stolen from us in 2022.
We honor you, Celestine Chaney, Roberta Drury, Andre Mackniel, Katherine Massey, Margus Morrison, Heyward Patterson, Aaron Salter Jr., Geraldine Talley, Ruth Whitfield, Pearl Young.
Congratulations to NT's Columbia Hook & Ladder on 150 years! I was delighted to join them Saturday at their anniversary celebration, where I presented a resolution I put forth in honor of their enduring legacy of service. What a joy to share this milestone occasion with them.

No truer words.
To the moms and mom figures: May you always know how essential you are. ❤️
Always a good Friday when Liam and I get to hang out with a winning rugby team.
We just helped celebrate the national champs of @SBURugby, presenting them with a resolution that this former rugby player and coach was delighted to co-sponsor.
Pics from @KenTonAthletics' Bike Rodeo tonight! My office was eager to help, providing staff support, tote bags for families' goodies – and lots of helmets, which were a donation from our friends @Kiwanis of Ken-Ton.
Another great team effort to keep our kids safe and healthy.
