Very disturbing news out of India overnight.
Amnesty International has been forced to halt its work in the region after the govt froze its bank accounts.
This is a part of a continued campaign to harass human rights defenders, chill dissent & commit atrocities with impunity.

A crackdown on academic freedom won't help India transform itself into a knowledge economy. Not a single university in the Times Higher Education’s global top 300 this year, for the first time since 2012. https://t.co/EuJW5GfbEZ via @financialtimes
