🚨11-Year-Old Cynthia Waxman Raped and Murdered in 1978; Case Solved by DNA After 27 Years

Victim: Cynthia Waxman, 11
Attacker: Charles “Junior” Jackson

Cynthia and her cousin had wandered into the woods behind the baseball field, following a stray cat. Cynthia stayed with the cat while her cousin went to get money to buy some food for it. Her cousin returned minutes later, but Cynthia was gone. She was found hours later, having been raped and strangled.

The case was solved 27 years later, when a DNA match identified Cynthia’s murderer as Oakland serial killer Charles “Junior” Jackson, who died of a heart attack in February 2002 while serving a life sentence for a 1982 rape and murder.

🚨Farm Murder: Huthie Bonnema, 62, Stabbed to Death Outside His Farmhouse

Victim: Huthie Bonnema, 62
Attackers: Walter Maringa and Khodani Tshishonga

On 18 October 2016, Huthie Bonnema was stabbed to death in front of his farmhouse on the farm Beaufort in the Levubu area, Vhembe District, Limpopo. Maringa and Tshishonga attacked him there and then robbed him. His cellphone and bakkie keys were taken.

Bonnema had spent the evening eating at his sister Marina’s home. When he did not let his family know he had arrived home safely, his eldest son Hendrik went to check and found his body.

The two attackers were arrested on 4 November 2016 near Mashau by Levubu police. They first pleaded not guilty. In June 2019, the Thohoyandou High Court sentenced Walter Maringa and Khodani Tshishonga to 25 years for murder and 15 years for theft with aggravating circumstances, to be served concurrently.

🚨Bored Teens Stab Pizza Cook Walking Home

Victim: Matthew C. Chew, 25
Attackers: Matias Perry, Idris Elahi, Brian Rabell, Marquis Singleton, Tyree Bundy, and Rahshad Perry (all teens at the time)

On Oct. 29, 2010, in New London, Connecticut, six teenagers grew bored after hanging out at Elahi’s house and decided to attack a random person. Perry dared Elahi to kill someone.

They found Chew walking home from his job at a pizza shop, surrounded him, beat him, and stabbed him six times. He called 911 and tried to crawl back toward work, but bled to death in the street.

Elahi later received 35 years in prison. The others received 8 to 15 years.

🚨Vietnam Veteran Killed by Police After Saving His Grandson From a Home Invader

On July 30, 2018, Richard “Gary” Black, 73, was fatally shot by Aurora, Colorado police just after defending his family from a violent break-in.

A naked man, Dajon Harper, 26, kicked in the front door of Black’s home and seized Black’s 11-year-old grandson. Harper bit and strangled the boy and tried to drown him in a bathroom. Black and the boy’s father fought to pull Harper off the child. When that failed, Black shot Harper twice in the chest, killing him.

Officers arrived as the shots were fired. They did not identify themselves as police. Seeing Black inside with a gun and a flashlight, they shouted commands to drop the weapon. Black, who had significant hearing loss from military service and was not wearing hearing aids, raised the flashlight toward the officers. One officer, Drew Limbaugh, fired four shots, striking the 73-year-old Vietnam veteran in the shoulder, chest, and back. Black died of his wounds.

Prosecutors later declined to charge the officer, calling the shooting a “harrowing tragedy” but saying the use of force was legally justified given the chaos and Black’s failure to drop the gun. Black’s family said they were “extremely disappointed.” Black was a two-tour Vietnam veteran who received multiple Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.

Police have made an arrest in connection with an alleged racially motivated mob attack on Sammie Lee outside a Longview, Texas, bar.

Ciarrianne Fuller was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury.

Lee said a group of women attacked her after she left Whiskey J’s, yelling “Free Karmelo” and stating they planned to target “the smallest white girl they could find.” She reported a black eye, staples in her head, and other injuries. Two additional suspects later surrendered and faced the same charge.

On July 30, 2015, 59-year-old James A. Flannery was making a pizza delivery when three youths robbed and killed him. The grandfather of four had taken the job with a pizza chain after being laid off months earlier. Sir Jeffrey Carroll, who turned 18 that day, placed an order sent to an empty house. Thirteen-year-old Jalen Hughes took the “For Sale” sign off the front lawn, and 20-year-old Latrell Richey shot Flannery in the back as he tried to flee.
