I hope I'll get the chance to watch one of Kim Hye Yoon's works as a director someday 🫶

💛 : As my graduation project, I wrote the script myself, directed it, and made a short thriller film. The story was about a crime disguised as a package delivery, and I tried to create a sense of fear rooted in everyday life.

I like giving characters distinctive traits, so I made the culprit someone who whistles. It may sound impressive when I describe it like this, but in reality, the film had many shortcomings and was far from perfect. Still, I think it was an incredibly valuable experience for me.

Ah, I think this is why Hyeyoonie's acting is so amazing. She's always striving to improve and never stops growing as an actress.

💛 : To be honest, I've always had very low confidence in my acting. But in a way, that has become the driving force that keeps me going.

With every project I complete, I find new areas where I fall short, and wanting to improve them motivates me to keep acting. I've come this far by recognizing my weaknesses and using them as motivation to grow and become better.

When Kim Hye Yoon was in her third year of middle school, she told her mother that she wanted to become an actress. At first, her mother thought it was just a passing dream, but Hye Yoon was so determined that she eventually convinced her parents to give her permission.

Her parents agreed on one condition, her grades had to improve. According to Hye Yoon, that was the period when she studied harder than at any other time in her life.

Her grades did improve, and from high school onward, she began attending an acting academy and formally studying acting.

💛 : A fan once wrote me a letter saying that life had felt dull and that motivation had been hard to find. But after watching the character Danoh and getting to know me as a person, a lot of strength and encouragement had been gained.

What surprised me was that the letter ended up giving me strength instead. It made me realize that I can be a source of comfort and support for someone, and that because of me, another person's life can become a little richer and more meaningful. As I reflected on that, I felt incredibly grateful and encouraged.

For about ten years now, you've been my reliable partner, my friend, and my mentor.

Hyeyoon, you are one of my greatest sources of pride and such a precious friend to me. Because I know better than anyone how hard you've worked to chase your dreams all these years, I want to give you the biggest round of applause.

Your dream started from a small interest and curiosity, but gradually became one of the biggest goals in your life. To pursue that dream, you studied incredibly hard in middle school and significantly improved your grades. You researched, practiced, worked hard, and never overlooked even the smallest detail. Watching you learn and absorb everything step by step inspired me and had such a positive influence on me, even throughout my own journey preparing for college entrance exams.

Whenever there was something you loved or wanted to master, you would watch it over and over again more than a hundred times to learn from it. Thanks to you, I became a huge Harry Potter fan as well.

Even though you've never been very good at expressing your feelings, you once made me a Christmas card by hand because you wanted to express your gratitude. When you heard that I had gotten my ears pierced, you insisted on giving me a gift and bought me a pair of earrings. I was so touched by your thoughtfulness and sincerity that I still keep those precious gifts safely in my treasure box to this day.

When I watched your very first project, Samsaengi, I remember saying, "Please give me your autograph!" I joked though I was half serious that one day it would become incredibly valuable. Looking back now, I was probably your very first fan to receive your autograph.

After that, whenever I saw your big and small projects appearing here and there, I would say that one day people would look back and say, "Actress Kim Hye Yoon appeared here too!" And now it has actually happened. From Goblin, Bad Guys, Shopping King Louie, The Legend of the Blue Sea, I Can Hear Your Voice, and many more, videos featuring your performances both big and small are being shared everywhere.

While attending school, you worked part time, kept learning, challenged yourself, and lived your college life to the fullest. You never even went on the overseas trips that almost everyone experiences at least once. Instead, you spent your time waiting for opportunities and projects that could come at any moment while constantly improving yourself. It feels like those honest years of hard work and dedication are finally beginning to shine.

Even when we stayed out late eating delicious food until we were completely full, I would go home and immediately collapse from exhaustion. Yet you would go swimming and then wake up the next morning to exercise again. I remember thinking, "Wow..." because I was so amazed by you. Once again, you made me reflect on myself. Haha.

I've truly learned and gained so much from watching you. You are an incredible person and a wonderful friend. You are the kind of friend who sees me for who I am, without caring about what other people think or say.

Your honesty, integrity, and character naturally shine through in every role you play, in your interviews, and in all the little moments that reveal who you are. I will always strive to be that kind of friend for you as well.

I hope more people come to know you as an actress. Because you are truly an amazing actress. Because you are truly the best. That's exactly who Hyeyoon is, everyone.
