That's smart. Because AR and VR are two completely different things. Serving two completely different domains, two completely different worlds (Except that they're both 3D, but what isn't? (Except for 2D) )

The first bank to start exploring the metaverse?! And it's probably not the last one proclaiming to "be the first XYZ" in the metaverse.
It reminds me of similar announcements, lots of them, day by day, in the age of Second Life
@RokidAir Perhaps its in the documentation, but I have a question: can these AR glasses display the color black? It looks like there is some darkening effect in the hardware of the glasses. Does the color black appear when watching a movie during daytime?
Perhaps that works in a technical sense. But for a viewer, it might just look like a projection on a wall.
Of course there are practical reasons not to want an AR headset. But that does not mean that AR glasses are not the ultimate way to experience AR

Perhaps some people expect that one day there will be a one-size-fits-all and endlessly enjoyable VR environment.
But people who've actually been in real VR/metaverses know that everything is fun for a while, and then you just want something else.

Not again. Please do not always expect there will be one killer app that everyone will want to use always, all the time
Tech flourishes when people can switch from one activity to another, be bored & be inspired to fix that by making something themselves

In many photoshopped/fake visuals about the future of #AR glasses, we see the color black. But present day devices cannot actually beam 'black light' towards your retina
It would be helpful to acknowledge that, and skip presenting use-cases where this issue is actually a no-go
Great! The Horizon visual suggest we can keep on flying around our avatars. That's important. I cannot sit still in real life, nor in metaverse situations
Away with the boring conference settings, which are mimicking real-life conferences so precisely

A monochrome display anno 2021?!
The #XiaomiSmartGlasses remind me of the Sony AR glasses which were withdrewn from the market for obvious reasons

When regular people started using camcorders decades ago, their reckless panning shots were a distaster to watch.
With the new #AR glasses by Facebook we're back at this. The device has changed. But what hasn't changed is that non-edited nonsense POV shots aren't fun to watch.
Smartglasses with video recording feature? Fine. It's nice to record POV videos. For yourself. But the infinite stream of content without a highlight might be of an unprecedented boring level.
No, NFTs are no democratizing the artworld. That a lot of average people can suddenly buy "art", does not benefit the whole art scene, in particular not the subset of artists creating incomprehensible work. It just shifts the definition of art a bit.
If the goal of data aggregation is to serve you personal ads, you'll be inclined to decline. But if the goal is to let your AR glasses optimise your life, it will not be as simple as declining the request https://t.co/pCd3csDCBM
Is it just me or do 95% of all "5G project demos" don't need 5G at all to work?
Seriously, most of what I see would work just fine on 4G or is deliberately designed to be so inefficient that it only a high bandwidth could keep the thing alive.
That seems sad news. But what is the opinion of the writer of this article? It mentions some facts, and "killed by Google" is a known phrase. But what does it mean for us, and does it mean anything for our future, and the role 3D objects might play in it? https://t.co/Byfj23CiLF
But aren't we going through all social media platforms step by step, while we get older? As a 17 year old you might appreciate certain Tiktok features, but when you grow older your preferences (and your sense of realism) will grow too https://t.co/736hImUu85
