@Ponderingpeon I agree with you, I don't know why He didn't. But He knew it would happen and did not prevent it regardless. What your father did was evil and I'm very sorry that happened to you, but we know that from Romans 8:28, that it WILL ultimately serve a greater purpose in God's plan

@Ponderingpeon For the sake of argument let's agree upon that. So back to the original topic, what was preventing God from thwarting your father's plan to SA you? "For the LORD Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?" Isaiah 14:27

@Ponderingpeon If person X planned to murder someone but God thwarted their efforts within the final moment, would you say God respected that person's free choice? I believe you're conflating "God respecting choices" (what you told me earlier) and "overriding freewill" (I think God can do both)

@Ponderingpeon ok, I see what you're saying, but idk if we could take what's happening in that verse and extrapolate it to every scenario. In Psalm 33:10 "The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.", we see that the Lord can intervene with the will of man

@Ponderingpeon you don't even know me so how could you know how I would respond? I agree 100%, man has his own will. But I have not seen any verse in the Bible showing that God "doesn't override man's will". In fact, I see the opposite. I would ask for just 1 verse from you
