@TrinitarianRick @ARayWhitlock @1689Wolverine It’s better to not play around with hypotheticals and stick with simply what we see in Scripture. Which we don’t necessarily agree on so an “agree to disagree” seems most prudent here.
@TrinitarianRick @1689Wolverine @ohrwurm_AT I do not believe the argument you were making is equal to the one that Logan is making. This is an apples and oranges comparison.
@TrinitarianRick @1689Wolverine @ohrwurm_AT I will bite, I’m not sure how that relates to economics at all because we are talking about murder in one case and not in the economics case.
@TrinitarianRick @1689Wolverine @ohrwurm_AT My question is why are neither can damned for how they handled the situation? Why are they not chastised for Not telling the truth and trust in God would save them? The silence about their method is what I find intriguing.
@1689Wolverine @TrinitarianRick That is an interesting point because in telling the truth in that scenario you are now culpable for the murder of those people....
@TrinitarianRick @1689Wolverine As I stated I do want to specifically study this topic, however I’m not exactly sure where we are explicitly commanded that line in all circumstances is a sin. I would not consider it the ninth commandment covering these scenarios based on what it says.
@1689Wolverine @TrinitarianRick A similar more modern scenario one could discuss is the old Germans hiding Jews from Nazis in World War II. Was it wrong for them to lie and tell them they did not have any Jews in their house?
@ohrwurm_AT @TrinitarianRick I am honestly going to have to study the topic of lying a little more before I come to a firm conclusion. I would lean towards it would be wrong in that situation to lie but I do not believe it would be wrong to withhold information.
@ohrwurm_AT @1689Wolverine @TrinitarianRick That is actually an interesting scenario since legally you do not have to answer that question so is intentionally lying to them and say no instead of refusing to answer the question wrong when you are not actually obligated to tell them under certain circumstances?
