Unofficial 8BitDo Help! I see your messages & reply when 8BitDo most likely won't. Not tech support, but I will give advice when I can. Just trying to help out.
@Js2Death@8BitDo@8bitdo_tech Sorry for the delayed reply, I don't have this controller, the best I can do is just spitball general ideas. Have you updated the firmware? If possible, tried to remove the controller from the list of devices? If detachable, tried a different cable? Is this PC or Xbox?
@PretendoNetwork Hoping that Fire Emblems Fates My Castles that have been uploaded can be backed up. Skills can be obtained from other players units, and the feature allowed for fun unit customization. Concerned because you'd need to pull them from Nintendo's server like Mario Maker.
@venture42069@SScupts@8BitDo The M30 is a bit of an amalgam between the Genesis 6 Button Controller, and the Japanese Saturn Controller/Western Saturn Model 2 Controller, but yeah you are right that the original controller had the smaller buttons, so the M30 does too.
@RobertDaleSmith@8BitDo This is a new color pathway for the controller, like 8BitDo has been recently doing and advertising for their SN30 Pro and Pro 2 controllers. Just a new plastic shell and different colored buttons, no new features.
@yadspi@IvanCaregnato@8BitDo If 8BitDo could add support for PlayStation and Xbox consoles easily without a legal nightmare, they likely would have done it years ago, as it has been their most requested feature for possibly 5 years now.
@yadspi@IvanCaregnato@8BitDo As for Nintendo, 8BitDo's products worked on Wii and Wii U at the time, with that support being dropped for Switch in the first half of 2017 iirc. PlayStation and Xbox both have harsh rules against wireless controllers, but that is not the case on Switch.
@yadspi@IvanCaregnato@8BitDo Even if they didn't include it in their change log, it would inevitably be discovered, repeated across the internet, and Microsoft would find out. They might not even get a chance to patch it back out before Microsoft terminates their contract. It is not worth the risk for 8BitDo
@yadspi@IvanCaregnato@8BitDo If 8BitDo could update their controllers to have wireless support for Xbox, then they would. But Xbox doesn't want this to happen, so 8BitDo hasn't done it. Same with PlayStation, 8BitDo knows this is their most requested topic, unofficially adding it would tank future contracts.
@non_one_c@8BitDo 8BitDo used to actually sell SN30 controllers with the European SNES/Super Famicom colored buttons, but with the revisions of the N30 Pro 2 & SN30 Pro, those colors were dropped. Nintendo likely threatened legal action at the time, and likely the reason those colors disappeared.
@Saeed_Ahmed02@8BitDo As you can see on the left, this color pathway of the M30 supports USC-C, just like the original release of the M30. https://t.co/f6clHaB8UD
@bit_90@_Mcdo0@8BitDo They explain it a bit better in this message. "A. Pick up the controller from the charging dock to power it on.
B. Then shake the controller to wake up your Switch." https://t.co/YPB253Pwi7
@Rich_Parkinson @graywolf323@8BitDo They updated their answer to be a bit more specific. A. Pick up the controller from the charging dock to power it on.
B. Then shake the controller to wake up your Switch.
https://t.co/YPB253Pwi7
@Rich_Parkinson @MarkoFilthy85@8BitDo 8BitDo says the controller can turn on the Switch by first removing the controller from the charging dock, and then shaking the controller. https://t.co/YPB253Pwi7
@bit_90@8BitDo They've somewhat updated their phrasing, "A. Pick up the controller from the charging dock to power it on.
B. Then shake the controller to wake up your Switch."https://t.co/YPB253Pwi7

@aramjabbari@8BitDo For right now, 8BitDo says the Pro 2 will not be replaced. https://t.co/Ex1CXNZfCt
Their track record is usually a few years after a "successor" comes out, they stop making the old controllers, so I'd stock up sooner than later.
