@astro_alexandra That’s the thing, SpaceX is really good at rockets, I might argue, the best at it, and that’s why it makes more sense to have them replace SLS, with a combination of Falcon Heavy and Starship, then use the money saved to have those who are great at telescopes build a huge one.

@prolibshow @JoJoFromJerz If you take away billionaires, the money doesn’t just go to the people, it disappears, along with lots of money held by non-billionaires, because at that point you have Communism, where no one is rich, no one has excess, except the political leaders.

@DC_Draino That would effectively be the largest tax increase on elderly and disabled Americans ever, since they mostly don’t pay income taxes. So a 100% disabled military veteran would go from getting an untaxed disability payment, to 30%+ jump in the price of everything they buy.

@elonmusk It’s like if a local retail store paid Amazon to deliver their products to its customers. You’re basically hiring your competitor that’s putting you out of business… 😬

I know we want competition, but SpaceX has the tech and volume that’s hard to overcome for anyone.

@BladeoftheS Then would you support police officers striking to end sanctuary cities?

By allowing violent criminals to not be arrested, it puts their lives at risk, making their job more dangerous, so clearly a worthy cause. Maybe firefighters will join in solidarity.

@MundtZoe @LupELupEL @BladeoftheS The problem is that many see any business owner as the bourgeoisie, even when many are there working right beside their employees, often making less that they do when you look at the hours put in.

They turn it into us vs them, and push away those who could help solve the issues.

@mcuban Well, at the end of the day not all tariffs are bad… but it’s not like this cost doesn’t carry over to the consumer.

Where tariffs are effective, is when it raises the end cost of an item, making a US made product more costs competitive. We, the consumers, do pay more though.
