Skitten seems to have a knack for getting us into trouble! She keeps leading me to backroads where we get stopped by a now familiar face – Leo, our eager red-haired police officer. At first he was strict, but now he knows us well and even lets us pass sometimes.
Skitten and I returned to the first spot in the woods today. This time, I approached slowly. Crouched behind some bushes, I could spot a young man enveloped in a navy coat examining the ground.
But then Skitten’s nervous tail rustled the branches, and he looked up and fled.
Some chose to battle, others chose to make friends.
The other day, I met Celena. She works at the nearest hospital and loves to take care of injured monsters!
Few days ago, I made friends with a young boy named Apollo. He likes catching bugs, and eating fruits.
He even challenged me for a battle, it was a lot of fun!
I've met quite a few people in Yorokobi and I'm excited for what lies ahead.
Stella has been helping me out navigate the town for the past few days, we've met quite a few people and I'm excited to meet more of them.
Yorokobi seems like a nice place to live in, but my dreams warn me of other things.
Been having dreams of forces unknown attacking. Its a good sign that I always have skitten by my side, even in my dreams.
Feels like our countless hours of training together have finally turned us into someone who is ready to be the greatest there ever was!
I struggled sleeping tonight. Perhaps I am not used to peace and safety. My dreams were filled with danger, and fear, and darkness. It could be a sign.
Whatever Stella says about Yorokobi town, I don’t believe this adventure is over yet.
The girl is called Stella! She is kind, and our feline guide is hers. She fed me today, and gave me a place to rest.
She tells me that we are in Yorokobi town, and that her cat searches for lost travellers to take care of them here. For the first time, I feel safe.
My face felt warmer and warmer as I approached the fire. My heart beat faster, and my breath became heavy.
Just when it was too much – just when I couldn’t take the suspense any longer – the leaves rustled and a young girl stepped out the trees.
As I raced towards the rising smoke, my mind flooded with images of the friend I might meet. Someone to journey with, to fight with, to care for. I hadn’t realised how much I’d missed having a friend by my side, and just how lonely I’d been.
Everything was about to change.
Success! Finally a sign of life. Today I spotted a spear of smoke rising above the dense forest ahead, and I almost jumped with joy as Skitten and Froxen danced around me.
Finally an end goal – finally another human – and perhaps, finally a real friend.
Our new friend led us through the forest for hours today. The paths were twisted and seemingly endless, like a dark incessant nightmare.
I’ve almost forgotten what sunlight feels like. I hope we reach our destination soon, wherever that could possibly be.
Breakthrough! We came across a stray cat in the forest today, and Skitten greeted it like an old friend. It’s the first time we’ve met a companion out here – perhaps it holds some answers.
My curiosity is getting the better of me.
Sometimes I feel like I'll never reach the end of this forest. The days are long, and the nights are even longer.
My shoes are worn through from endless trekking, and the soles of my feet are scarred and sore. My eyes are strained from searching for any sign of human life.
Skitten’s tail brushes against my hand, and my heart skips a beat. For a second, I thought the touch was my mother's, reaching out to comfort me.
I miss her warmth. I miss her smile. I wonder where she is now - she’s not in this cold, barren landscape, that much I know.
It’s getting dark outside. I don’t know how long we’ve been walking, but we'll need a place to rest soon.
The shadows hide shifting faces and muffled noises. Froxen’s ears are perked up, straining for any sign of danger. I wonder what we’ll encounter before the sun rises.
Skitten stole some berries from a bush, they had all turned mushy till they reached me.
I still remember the time when my parents brought her home, always creating a mess wherever she goes. I wish my dad was here to see how big she has grown.
