As part of his tour of Kashmir Valley, Shri G. P. Singh, IPS, DG @crpfindia, visited and halted at night at 118 Bn at Gund. During the visit, he inspected infrastructure, engaged with key stakeholders, and interacted closely with the troops. DG, #CRPF was briefed on the operational activities in the AOR, followed by strategic discussions on planning and security with senior officials and unit commanders.

Indomitable courage rewarded

​On 5 Nov 2024, acting on credible inputs, 3 Bn @crpfindia, 26 Assam Rifles, and @JmuKmrPolice launched a swift joint operation against heavily armed foreign terrorists in Bandipora, J&K.

​Amidst indiscriminate fire, Ct/GD Saddam Hussain (3 Bn CRPF) displayed nerves of steel. With complete disregard for personal safety, he moved closer to the hostile target, firing precision UBGL rounds from just 25 meters to neutralize a terrorist.
​For his indomitable courage and gallant action under fire, Ct/GD Saddam Hussain has been conferred the Shaurya Chakra today by the President of India.
