@JustineBateman Idk if anyone has mentioned it but @KeithMalinak from @theblaze had stroke Thursday at the age of 50. Keith is an amazing God fearing man. He is on life support and this morning his wife asked that we pray for a miracle. So many hearts are broken today. Including mine.
Kentucky DCBS is corrupt. Children have died. But the good ole boys club and the money made, means the kids will continue to suffer. Kentucky also has a high opioid epidemic leaving a larger number of children than there are homes for them to go into. But that’s no excuse. And when you couple the DCBS fraud with the epidemic, the children will never win.
@theblaze@KeithMalinak Best advice I ever got…we like to tell God how big our mountain is when we should be telling the mountain how big our God is. Prayers for @KeithMalinak and his family.
@BigMan0472@KeithMalinak Yes! My dad has had a construction business my whole life and now he and my husband share it. I saw that pile and knew that would never
be acceptable on one of their job sites. Sorry @KeithMalinak I’m sure they are nice people, maybe just a little messy.
Feds Unearth Bullet-Riddled Dog Corpses, 600 Collars Near Mass Graves At Rescue Sanctuary
Authorities searching Miranda's Rescue uncovered mass graves, suspected killing sites, and hundreds of canine remains.
The case has exposed a little-known part of California's animal welfare system: private rescues that accept animals from overcrowded public shelters, often for transfer fees, while operating outside direct government oversight.
It had contracts or transfer arrangements with various municipal/county animal shelters across California (and at least one mention involving out-of-state), under which it received per-animal fees (often hundreds to thousands of dollars). These are local government or shelter payments—not direct state appropriations or grants. Other shelters and rescues paid these fees to offload animals. The ongoing fraud investigation includes scrutiny of how these funds were used amid the high number of unaccounted animals.
@AGuyWhoRhymes@HistorianUSA1 He’s an adult now but this happened all through middle school. We eventually pulled him out his freshman year when we saw that high school would be no different.
Wrong. We did it for several years. My goal was always to get the child off medication (unless it was absolutely necessary) and have them succeed in school. Those children were given the number 1. Least amount of pay. But because we did it for a private company, we got the kids the state homes didn’t want. Those kids were labeled with a 5. More pay because they were the most difficult cases. We made over $5000/month from 4 kids who were leveled 3-5. The private company was FOR PROFIT and got the same amount we got for each child. There were many foster parents in our circle who took several children/teens and phoned it in. The private company didn’t care as long as they kept getting paid. We weren’t like that which is why we eventually had to stop. It turns your home into an institution and we got very little support from the private company or the state workers.
Spark now bundles your order with a grocery order. Before they used to bundle your order with other like orders. So a driver would get an offer to deliver approximately 15 or so orders like yours, taking approximately two hours, for around $50. Some drivers decided that was worth it to them. Now they take your one order, add it to someone else’s grocery order and offer the driver somewhere in the neighborhood of $10. So now that driver must decide if those two orders are worth the $10 plus whatever the grocery order tipped. Spark doesn’t tell the driver who tipped what. Only that the two orders have a tip and how much that tip is. If you live in a rural area, that driver will most likely pass on the offer. I’m not saying you need to tip. I’m just explaining how Walmart has changed the game. And Walmart was the one who changed it because they also own Spark. But those drivers are 1099 contract drivers and not Walmart employees.
Six weeks.
SIX FLIPPING WEEKS.
Lucy has not heard our voices. She hasn't slept on her rug. She hasn't gone for a ride in the truck. She hasn't been snuggled by her family, played with Lex, or run free in her own field.
SIX WEEKS.
She's been locked in a tiny cell, sleeping on concrete, likely wondering why we abandoned her.
SIX WEEKS.
She's eleven years old. She doesn't have endless time ahead of her. She could get sick. Her health could fail. Every day matters.
And while everyone moves at a snail's pace, without a care in the world, time keeps slipping away from MY DOG—the dog who was taken because a petty neighbor decided to call the authorities when she slipped out of her collar in our OWN YARD!
This wasn't some outrageous act! This wasn't a purposeful violation of anything and didn’t cause incident. This wasn't the terrifying incident the neighbors or government would like people to believe it was.
It was a normal, everyday occurrence that happened on our private property!
We could have lied. We could have denied it happened. No one had proof otherwise:
But that's not who we are.
So for six weeks, my Lucy—my eleven-year-old dog who stood watch over our family through deployment after deployment, who kept me company during the lonely nights when I watched the news and wondered if my husband would make it home alive—has sat in prison.
This is a sick abuse of the law, and an innocent animal is paying the price.
Not for biting someone.
Not for attacking someone.
Not for leaving and roaming the neighborhood.
For being in her own yard.
Let that sink in.
And because malicious neighbors refused to mind their own business, and because officials with the power to do the right thing have refused to exercise any bit of common sense, she remains there.
They make me sick.
The abuse of power makes me sick.
The character assassination makes me sick.
The lies make me sick.
The fact that people who have never met us, never spoken to us, and don't know the first thing about our family have spent years trying to destroy our peace makes me sick.
Enough is enough!
Let Lucy come home already! Is this really the hill anyone wants to die on? It’s a single dog. It’s an average family. Send her back and leave us alone. That’s all we want.
And for those who have participated in this injustice—whether through malice, cowardice, pride, or indifference, know this:
God sees every bit of it.
He knows the truth.
And one day, every one of us will answer to Him.
Until our Lucy is home and beyond. We will not stop fighting.

I’m a huge Lionel Richie fan but always wanted to pay respect to the other guys in the band by listening to the music you put out after he left. Thanks for letting me off the hook from ever feeling guilty about not listening to your music. Now to figure out what to do with that extra three minutes in my life.
